Hey, guys. I was wondering if you could mention any good retro games for Halloween, as it's on a Friday this year. I want a game that is on any system up to the N64, but most preferably either SNES or Sega Genesis.

I already know about the Splatterhouse series, so there is no need to mention it. I even have the first two on Virtual Console.

No matter what, check out Fatal Frame if you haven't. Scary Fucking game. For the SNES, check out Super Ghosts n Goblins and Demon's Crest.

Monster Party (NES)
Johnny Dash in Monster Bash (PC)
Friday the 13th (NES)

I have another one in mind, but it's super obscure and I'm saving it for next year's Halloween review.

Kid Dracula, spinoff of the Castlevania series (NES translated and GB). Really more comedic than scary.

The Uninvited (NES)
Demon King (SNES, Japanese = fantastic, gory)
Castlevania (obvs)
Vagrant Story (it has a really creepy, lonely atmosphere)

if you're looking for good horror games for the ps1/n64, it might be a good idea to check out

Okay, I've said it before and I'll say it again: Clock Tower, SNES. Play it. Or Clock Tower for PlayStation is okay too.

I second Monster Party. That game is seriously fucked up.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

Good suggestions, guys. I might have to look for some of those games.

On a side note, I used to have Zombies Ate my Neighbors, but one of my older sister's friends took it with her. Now, it's far, far away. Sad

I love that game. I rented it and never returned it from some video store in a small town in Montana. My friend Bill and I spent hours playing it.

Shadowgate (NES)
If you like Univited, then I think you would like Shadowgate.
Also, if you can scare up a Sega CD, Night Trap.

My sister and I used to play it a lot, too. It's truly an awesome game.

I hope it comes out on the Virtual Console.

Sweet Home for the NES was my first immediate thought.

You could also try Halloween for the Atari 2600.

Do you know what? I just remembered another Atari 2600 game that would be good for Halloween: Haunted House. That game is actually really fun. Very Happy

Hugo's House of Horrors.

There's a key inside the pumpkin, it's easier than trying to climb the fence.

How about Snatcher for the Sega CD? It's got a creepy atmosphere.
