has anything major happened in your life recently? relationship? fight? exams? thats what really gets your brain firing long after your body has cried mercy, when emotions linger on long past the time they should have been resolved. i havent slept more than 5 hours in a night without the aid of booze or drugs in a good 10 years, probably because im a worrier. dont let things like that fuck you up, because the pattern is hard to break..

Ya, I am a worrier as well, I have an anxiety disorder, so that is basically why I can't sleep. I'm not really worrying at night so much though. Maybe subconsciously, but it's just stupid shit that I think about, it's fucking annoying.

I read everything, and ya, I tend to stay away from drugs, other than weed, but I hate paying for shit so I just do it when someone is willing to smoke me up. I also don't drink, I had a bad mother fucking run in with alcohol and havn't been able to bring myself to drink much if anything.

I've started excerising a bit, maybe i can kill 2 birds with 1 stone, sleep better and get in better shape, I've sat on my asss for far too long. That could contribute to lack of sleep lol

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

I totally have insomnia, but at the moment it isn't a problem. I actually get a lot more writing done. So... bonus.

I'm normally a heavy sleeper, but if anything at all is wrong with my life and is on my mind, I have a really bad habit of staying up most of the night thinking about it.

Case in point: I recently got in a really bad (verbal) fight with a friend of mine, and for about a week and a half I averaged 3-4 hours of sleep a night, which isn't much for me. The night after we made up, I slept for ten and a half hours.

I'll probably go insane one day because of it.

I had insomnia for a while. My doctor tried to get me on Lunesta or something, but I don't trust sleeping meds at all. I got over it by getting activity (gym, walking, whatever) at least about four hours before I went to bed (any time so it's not right before you go to sleep), then read before I went to bed. The physical activity burns off my daylight energy and the book keeps me from getting nervous or anxious, so that I can burn out whenever I need to.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I have a method for putting myself to sleep.

Put on your headphones and listen to music while trying to relax as much as possible. While you do this, try to listen to each "track" of the song, i.e. the bass line in Girls & Boys by Blur. When you'll fail to notice that the line has changed or stopped, turn off your player, you'll fall asleep in minutes.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

Some tips for insomniacs:
-Don't sit in your bed all day, whether its watching tv, using laptop, whatever, the brain rests easier when your bed is actually just a bed.
-Can't sleep? Get out of your bed. Do something, read a book, watch tv, cook something. (Bananas and heated up milk contain high levels of tryptophan, chemicals that make you tired), after a while of roaming around go back to bed.
Hopefully this helps for you guys, good luck! Surprised

I don't have a signature. Sorry. Try again later.. probably not though.
