Good news everyone! My friend got the strategy guide for Order of Ecclesia and it included a preview of the characters in Judgment:

It gives a roster of:
Simon and Trevor (both age 23)
Eric and Maria (both age 15)
Shanoa
Alucard
Dracula
Carmilla
Golem
Death
Aeon (a minion of Galimoth sent through time to remove Dracula from existence so Galimoth can step in and take over

That gives us 5 heroes and 5 villains, with one boss character (Aeon).

Normally, I have nothing bad to say about Castlevania, but this looks terrible. Not like I own a Wii anyway.

Just a heads up that the game comes out today.
Looks like we'll also be able to play with Sypha Belnaides, Grant DaNasty (given a Voldo-esque treatment without the gimpinesss) and Cornell. Trevor has an eye patch.

Actually he's the from the expanded remake of CV 64. The weird thing is that IGA declared that one of the non-canon games. I'm guessing he threw it in since Aeon's whole schtick is being about time and space.

I may give it a rent. But it really doesn't look all that appealing to me. IGN says it's not bad.

I got cornell mixed up with reinhardt schneider, so thats what irked me. I was all like "why would they put the guy from castlevania 64 in here before putting richter, if they're both whip fighters?" but by putting the werewolf from legacy of darkness in here, I can see that they're going for a mix of characters, which is pretty cool.

Nintendo Power gave it a somewhat good score, but the reviewer sounded like he didn't like it. He kept trying to point out these tiny good things too. "I really didn't like the game, oh, but the controls were simple, and, er...um, Castlevania!"

My plan is to get this while I'm finishing off my Christmas shopping today. My worst fear is this'll be another fighter like Bleach: Shattered Blade was (a mediocre fighter coasting on high fanboyism), and yes I got that too. I like CV more than Bleach so I'll probably keep it even after I tire of it.

So yeah, I got the game and after linking it up with my copy of Order of Ecclesia, the only characters still unlocked are Dracula and Death. That's right, everyone but Aeon, Dracula, Death, and Shanoa are initially playable. You can use the classic controller or the Game Cube controller (not that it makes jumping any easier, R button on GC, Right analog stick on classic controller). And Grant plays like Voldo if he could jump.

Yeah, you can unlock Shanoa and Aeon without linking with OoE. Though it still doesn't allow you to play as Aeon in Story mode.

The DS game's benefit for linking is the Queen of Hearts for free. Otherwise you have to beat the game on hard mode (it cuts the heart cost for special attacks in half).

well now it looks like gamestop girl is going to think I'm tripley weird, considering I've recently purchased rumble roses XX, and arcana heart. maybe this one will slip by unnoticed on the weirdometer.
