I am heading out tomorrow on this school camping trip to the desert and until be back until firday... I think, they never told me the date of return so I am no sure. Anyways, because my school hates technology, I can't bring along a laptop, which means I won't be able to post until friday.

Enjoy!

Camping can be fun. I hope you enjoy.

I've only done forest camping before, it sounds interesting to do it on the desert.

Do you use a normal tent and gear?

I doubt that Ross's Iditarod equipment would be very useful.

Mother Nature would like you to know that she thought you were consenting and didn't realize that when you were saying, "Don't Stop!" you actually meant, "Don't!!!! Stop!!!"

When I was in 8th grade we went on a camping trip for this class. We could bring whatever we wanted except a knife with a blade longer than three inches, porn, beer, or a gun,

They checked our backpacks and sleeping bags for the porn beer and guns. They just looked at our knifes

Glad to hear that they weren't against hard drugs. Cocaine, is a hell of a drug.

What do scouts do now a days?

I was one for about a year and gave it up, but this was 18 years ago.

Ever see that episode of American Dad where Stan forces Steve into the scouts? that's what happens: Porn, Beer, and crazy times.

Actually I have no idea, I never was in the scouts.

I haven't been camping in years. With Boy Scouts we used to go once a month, this was 11 or more years ago for me, and we would go backpacking, whitewater rafting, have scavenger hunts, throw horse shoes, cook ungodly amounts of food etc. Now in high school, with just friends, the necessities were alcohol (cheap beer, 40's, cheap hard liquor), fireworks, paintball guns, and a food to grill on the open flame. Also, maybe a tent if we remembered, oh and at least a carton or more of cigarettes.

Just don't go off searching for treasure and end up like Evan Tanner. Make sure you always have plenty o' water.

Well, I am back.

It was a good trip, the highlight being the S.E.A, which, despite its name, has nothing to do with water. Basically, it is a bunch of boulders that fell on top of eachother and the way they landed created some tunnels and a few large rooms. It is a lot more awesome then it sounds.

And GPFontaine, we do indeed use normal tents for desert camping.

Not the best trip I have ever been on, but it was pretty great. Still, being able to shower and shit in something other then a hole are things I missed.
