I wish i had before and after picture but oh well. Any way I've had the stache for months now and decided that most girls on campus seem to be put off by it. So i made the bold move of shaving it off. It was easier then i expected and i had the 'Führer' look for a couple of seconds.

After words though i looked in the mirror and said "who the fuck are you?"

Seriously i don't even recognize myself. Funny thing is i look older with the stache and younger without it. It's been hours now and I'm still freaking out. "looks in mirror" HOLY HELL!!!

To those of you who were bold enough to grow facial hair then shaved it off, did you experience this enigma of not know who the hell the guy in the mirror was?

Not really, I had a beard but it didn't get this so to avoid the pubes on the face look it took too much maintenance, so I shaved it, I looked different for a bit but better Smile. You will get over it in time, you are just not used to it.

I tend to shave my head and entire beard except the goatee, let it grow to mountain man proportions, and start the whole process over as soon as someone mentions how scraggly I look.

I currently have a full beard. It is about a month old now and I was actually thinking about shaving it off and leaving the mustache.

I have been toying with ideas for Halloween too, what fun facial hair shit can I do for a day.

But in the end my wife's nagging may get to me, shaving might be a necessity.

I still scare myself when I look in the mirror though, I expect to be clean shaven.

Hell yes. I've had a mustache/goatee for the past month and I shaved it two days ago. You really don't recognize who you are for a moment. You also don't realize how wide your face is, haha.

I loved my beard but the woman hated it. Now that she's history, I'm growing it back out until Halloween when I'll need to be clean-shaven for my costume.

I used to have a small mustache, but I've been phasing it out since January. My brother said that I look like a porn star with it.

I recently had to my beard and mustache. It took me a week to get used to it. I miss it, but I should have it grown back soon. I've found girls dig clean shaven dudes a lot more, so that's a plus. But how I miss looking like a homeless person and/or Jesus.

maybe that's why girls don't like facial hair:

The idea of fucking someone who looks like Jesus must be a turn off.

I've attempted to grow a beard. Unforunately, the hair on my face is a diffrent color than the hair on my scalp, so it really wasn't a good look for me...

My girlfriend will not allow facial hair. Too scratchy. It's either sex or a beard. Beards are cool and all, but just the same....

The problem is that you can't grow it in full. It looks spotty. When you can grow a full beard it will be much different. Though I don't know if the girls are going to be into it.

Yeah, I figured that out a few days after that photo was taken. I can't grow hair on the sides of my face, so I figured out how to pull off the "goatee comb-over" to make it seem fuller. The fact that I'm standing next to Trevor "I've got more hair on my beard than you do on your head" Peres probably doesn't help. Here's another photo taken a few weeks later, I think it looks much better:

Absolutely amazing, even if they played a bit too much new material. Probably the third-best show I've been to, after Rush and Dropkick Murphys.

I actually know girls that find that a turn on. No, not beards, but the idea of fucking Jesus.

And yes. I have facial hair. A nice, neatly trimmed goatee. I had shaved it off per request. And it took off several years. I like looking like a 20 something and not a goddam teenager. I get no respect that way. No respect.

The Melodic Death Metal band Vehemence's "God Was Created" explores that phenomenon in few songs

Someone slapped a lot of war and violence news shots over this song, if I remember the lyrics correctly I think it doesn't have too much to do with the song but it looks cool.
