QFT. I like your intermittent posts Gumshoe. Seems like you always say what I'm thinking, just with like 4-500 less words.

I was just going to chime in and say if you call a chick a babykiller, you'll be a royal ass-cock, but Syd really, really hit the nail on the head.
P.S. If you do it, fuck you. And by the way, just because some religious nutjobs call people babykillers, doesn't mean that all religious people do it. Please, please, think before you start a topic next time.
P.P.S. It's times like this I wish we had a "Karma" function on these boards.

I said I decided not to and the discussion went on and on. I used this more of a way to vent so I could get my thought out there without actually acting on it.
Syd, is that a true story? I did something sort of like that and I felt kinda bad but just didn't wanna get in trouble, I guess I'lll just think back to when I told the kid off and how it felt then when considering something like this in the future.

Fucking MBTA bus...
There was one day in the 5 years that I lived in Boston where the MBTA buses were not running. I don't know why, but I do remember that the city was a pleasure to walk and drive in on that day. The next day when they were back, so were all of the traffic and pedestrian problems.
More to the point. Syd, you never deserved the treatment you got and something should have been done about it. However, I agree that you shouldn't have made the comment to him for the reasons you mentioned.

I had a "similar" situation except it was very similar. An ex girlfriend of mine was at the bar I was at and she had gotten about 3 abortions since we dated because she didn't know how to keep her legs closed. She always called me and cried about how the guy wants nothing to do with the baby, blah blah blah. She was drunk came up to me and my girlfriend and she started talking shit on my girlfriend. I said to her, "Why don't you go get another abortion, or did you fill your quota this week." Then walked away. I can't say I felt bad about, in all honesty. I think that was acceptable given the circumstances.

So if she starts talking shit about a girlfriend of mine, I'm free to say whatever I please? Or does she need to say particularly heinous things about my woman?

Sounds like i'm being picky. But acknowledging that somebody gets a lot of abortions is slightly less severe than calling them a murderer for doing so. I personally wouldn't condone either of them, but I think that little technicalities make a difference in the level of offensiveness.

This is how I see it. One abortion you know about but don't fully know the situation; leave it alone.
Multiple abortions you know about and know why they happened, PLUS them being a complete clownshoe to your girlfriend in a very public place = Make the bitch cry.
But that's just me

What if it's an abortion 'cause she was stupid and didn't want to have protected sex? If the condom broke thats fine but if she's not on any birthcontrol or anything, and did so willingly, then come on.

People fuck up and make stupid decisions when they're younger. If she doesn't regret it now, she probably will later. Either way, bring it up and you're an asshole. Just let it die. Be the bigger man (person?) and drop it.
I don't remember who said it earlier, but I agree with the implication that you're just dragging this on for attention.
EDIT: After reading the OP, you give no real reason for hating this girl other than she didn't want you to hang out with a friend. While that isn't very nice, I think you're taking this waaaay to seriously. That definitely doesn't justify a shot like "babykiller".

The problem that I see with this is that you are pointing out the negative in her life and being the bad guy.
Instead I would suggest a different approach.
"Listen, I'm happy with my life. Are you happy with yours?"

Not necessarily. He may just be curious about everyone's thoughts on the conditionals involved with such a social situation. I look at it like a chess game, and at this point he may just be getting people's analysis on different continuations from a given position. Granted, I know it's not a great "position" to begin with, so to speak, but I think it's all very interesting in the realm of social theory.
Then again, I probably just have chess on the brain.

The problem with your logic is that while, Yes, this would work with someone sober; being drunk however lowers the effectiveness of that particular exchange to about 0%.
Ex- Is this the new whore your sleeping with?
Me- No she is no way related to you, this is my girlfriend.
Ex- HA, word is she gets around.
Me- Listen, I'm happy with my life. Are you happy with yours?
Not the same effect. Plus if she says yes, I have nothing more to say and I look like a pussy in front of my girlfriend. I have no qualms telling slutty ex girlfriends how it is.

Perhaps it would be best to just look at her and say, "Do I know you?" and walk away.
To be honest, I can't relate so I suppose I'll bow out of this one.

I know you're married, but I don't know your social habits. If you were to go out to a bar and some girl you know verbally abuses your girlfriend with you sitting right there, 99% of those wifes/gf's would want you to tell the bitch off and not be a "pussy". Not saying your being a pus, but usually the "be the better person" approach rarely makes your girl feel much better. Now if it were someone I DIDN'T know then yea I would kill them with kindness, no question.

I hardly think the concept of "defending your woman" needs to be explained.
I'm a nice, peaceful, non-violent kind of person. I'm not even sure I'd fight to defend myself. But if someone insults my wife like that, they better hope I put them through the wall when I throw them against it. Because I'm gonna keep trying until they do go through it.
And please note the lack of "Fucking Joke" tag there.

Thanks, you are correct.
If I really needed attention I'd probably bring this up with people I know, however, just trying to get opinions on the subject could get me fucked over if I ask people that I see in my every day life. On here, someone may think I'm an asshole but it doesn't greatly affect my every day life, so I ask here because it's the safer way to get opinions.
Granted I went about asking the wrong way, but if I did the same with people I know I'd be more fucked because I went about asking the wrong way.

If a situation were to arise in which my wife were the target of a verbal attack, I would prefer to get her out of the line of fire than to pour fuel on it.
Seriously, I have a good life. I know I have a good life. I know that she has a good life. It isn't worth getting upset about some idiot being an idiot.
I know that a lot of people would look at this as being a pussy. I tend to think that I just can't be bothered with someone that fucking dumb. Let someone else teach them a lesson.
