Watch the last minute of this video:

A collection of the best video game music of all time. This is going to be insane because there are so many deserving themes to be put on the list. Hell a top 100 wouldn't even scratch the surface.

My opinions over the years shifted from Comix Zone, to Earned in Blood, and now I think Braid my have favorite.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Braid had a killer soundtrack. It, among the gameplay itself, was some of the most innovative stuff I've seen in a while. For a little while after, when I was playing other games, I kept hitting the button to rewind everything and try again... but it would just get me killed usually. It's the same thing if I'm playing a game on an emulator and I'm save-stating it up. Then when I go to play an actual console, I hit a trigger button to save and load states that don't exist...

Choosing only 100 songs from video games? That's... that's near blasphemy.

RIP Hacker.

Knowing Screw Attack, it'll probably only be top twenty.

Well. just off the top of my head, here are the best of the best in no particular order:

Metroid (Brinstar theme), Mega Man 1 (whole soundtrack), Killer Instinct (whole), SF2 (the attract mode song), Donkey Kong Country (pretty much any song), Contra (Jungle stage), Castlevania (Vampire Killer), SMB 3 (Those two level themes from World 1), SMB Overworld theme, Legend of Zelda (overworld), Final Fantasy (overworld theme), Mario Clash theme (the game was shit, but I like the music), Batman (the whole, again), Journey to Silius (Yeah, whole again), Monkey Island theme, Cannon Fodder theme, Alien Breed title screen music.

See, that's seventeen titles just off the top of my head. I know I have forgotten many, many tracks, but this was just off the top of my head.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.
