Haha everyone does indeed love lists. Great collection of quotes and screenshots overall Syd. I was waiting the whole time for the death screen in Shadowgate, I vividly remember having to stop playing the game as a young child because that scared the shit out of me so hard. That game was beyond tedious, very rewarding though.

I noticed a few typos while I was scanning through it, not sure if they were intentional, but just letting you know.. And wasn't the character's name in Bionic Commando Ladd, not Spencer? Overall, a solid article.

I did notice typos as well such as repetition of words (ie: the first paragraph with "be ineffective be ineffective") However Syd is only human like You and I, prone to the occasional error.

his name was Ladd Spencer, it was supposed to Radd Spencer but the Japanese get confused with R's and L's. In the GB game, he was Rad Spencer. In Rearmed, he was Nathan Spencer.
There probably are typos, there's a typo thread please point them out. I'm behind schedule for this month so there may be more than usual.

If I could get a text-only version of the article, I could have it proofread with notes and corrections in about twenty minutes.

I actually own Rambo, so I laughed when that made it on the list. Christ, that game is a big bag of fucked up.

In order to make the house appear, you must collect a certain number of coins in the target level. Both the target levels and the coin triggers are unspecified by the game, so you'll either have to figure them out on your own and look them up in a strategy guide. |
You might also know them if you are Fred Savages little brother from the Wizard, where somehow he knew exactly what white block to duck on for 5 seconds to fall behind the scenery and get the warp whistle. Apparently knowing this due to austism.

This line is a well-documented victim of Nintendo of America censorship. The original line was: "Get the fuck out of here, you cocksmoker, or I will cut out your eyes with my pocket knife and while you lay suffering in a pool of your own blood and vomit, I will track down your family, transform into a giant demon covered in swastikas, and tentacle rape every last one of them." |
In japan they have a single hiragana character that says exactly this.

1. I almost included that, but I highly doubt that hackneyed bullshit is unique to Bad Street Brawler. It sounds like something Jiminy Cricket would say.
2. That's on the list.

Somehow neither "Amazing Paperboy Delivers", "Paperboy Calls It Quits", "Paperboy Retires In Glory", or "Cancelled Subscriptions" seemed snazzy enough.

No rupees? I guess information like that doesn't get you anywhere. Neither do prom dates like that...

FWIW, it's not that hard to replicate the ACTUAL font from Zelda. Go into Registration Mode and it gives you the whole fucking alphabet.

When i first saw the post i thought we were to help with suggestions. I didn't know about the new article until today. BTW, it was awesome. "I'm Invisible" still haunts me to this day.

So that's what Grampa Bill meant when he said "I stared in one video game . . . you know . . . the one on the NES." This whole time i thought he meant paper boy.

It was simply a time issue. Capture each letter and reposition them or just type it out. I suppose I should know better with the given audience.
