The other day my co-worker told me an interesting story.
When he was born, his mother did not have a name picked out for him. She had been told by the doctors prior to his birth that they were 100% sure it would be a girl. When he arrived as a boy she claimed to be unprepared for naming the child and no longer cared to name him.
The hospital demanded that a name be put onto a birth certificate and would not let her leave the grounds until she had agreed to name her child.
After some arguing about the matter she turned to another woman in the room who had also just given birth to a baby boy and asked, "Hey you... what did you name your kid?"
The woman replied, "I named my little angel Steven. Isn't he just adorab..."
My co-worker's mother interrupted, "Yeah that's good enough for mine too, can I leave now?"
And that is how my co-worker was named.

Wow. What a pissy mother. I know when I have a kid, I'm going to spend months finding just the right name for both genders. You always have to have contingency plans.

It was easy to name my kid. It was the only name me and my wife agreed on. Out of hundreds of names, there was only one that both of us liked. I wanted to name him Kal-El like Nicholas Cage did. But that wasn't going to happen. She also vetoed George Washington Ryan and Hulk Hogan Ryan, and Elvis. She sucks at picking out names.
Speaking of naming people, does anybody remember when some people were making a big deal saying the National Weather Service was racist because they weren't naming hurricanes "black names"?

I started writing "Zeus" on all of my papers in school. I didn't tell anybody about it. But the teachers must have known it was me, because they handed back my papers, never asked who Zeus was, and only one teacher even said anything about it. They just acted like it was business as usual. The next year, I changed my name (not legally, but I should have) to David Savage. Same thing, no questions asked. Nobody ever told me to put my real name. After I graduated, I had a friend still in school who started putting Mike Diggler on all of his stuff and he said nobody ever said anything to him about it either.

Your last name is MOTORHEAD, in all caps? |
I'll legally change it during the pregnancy.

Actually, that was probably a great story for him to tell girls in high school.

I am definitely naming my kid after something from a cartoon. My girlfriend promised in front of both of our families that I have full control of the middle name for the boys. At least. She likes the name I picked out for the first name too. So the first boy I have full control over (well, the name part)
Soon the world will cower in fear of Michelangelo Spider-Man Lastname. Or maybe Michelangelo Wolfwood. Or possibly Michelangelo Xavier. Or Michelangelo Magnus.
One of those. Her being a geek helps. She likes all these names. Except Spider-Man. But she admits I have total control.

Nah. Wade is a verb. And a retarded one at that. I don't think it makes a good name. And as for Wilson... That's an old guy name. Now Michelangelo Deadpool...
Hmm... not as good as Spider-Man.

My mom likes giving her kids middle names with incorrect spelling. "Thomas Oren Hughes", "Teresa Lyn Hughes", "Cameron Brice Richter". I plan on having my middle removed upon turning 18.

I almost had a cool name. My parents where going to name me Gunner Mac Rae but they decided against it because it is a female name in Scotland. Ironically, the dumb f**ks, named my sister Lindsay, which is commonly used as a male name in Scotland.

I already have my kids' names picked out
Edward Randall (after Eddie Van Halen and my grandpa)
Isabelle Marion (after Izzy Stradlin and my grandma)
Eisley Joleen (cool name, and my best friend's middle name)
Norrin Gibson (after the Silver Surfer (don't tell) and well, you know).
I think those are all awesome names, and they'll work if any of my kids wanna follow me into the biz and use the name Rifle.

I don't care what my kids are named, as long as it's not one of those obscure Celtic names that seem to be popular with the yuppies these days. I don't want my progeny to sound like an elf from a fantasy novel.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

A co-worker of mine (My boss) actually told me an interesting story as well. He made sure to make it very clear that this person was an acquaintance and not a friend, but someone he knows named their kid Danger. Why the fuck would you do that? Unless their last name was Mouse, that's unacceptable. Everyone knows that Danger is a fucking middle name. I want to have a kid and give them the middle name Danger, so my kid can meet theirs and have the following conversation:
"Wow, you're name is Danger? That's probably the gayest thing I've ever heard. Ever."
"What are you talking about, ass-hat? I thought your name was Danger too?"
"No, Danger's my middle name." (Insert debonair smile)

Danger really is a great middle name.
On that note, my wife's middle name is Patience.
