I got 2,000 Wii points today to buy MegaMan 9, so now I have 1,000 left for something else. And I'm literally on a brainfart here...I can't decide between Kirby 64 or Samurai Shodown II. This is a tough choice, because I have to choose between either a game that is considered to be among the best fighters ever or a game that is considered one of the best Kirby games ever.
Which do you guys recommend?

Well, I got Kirby 64 on the Virtual Console. I would recommend it if you like Kirby a lot. If not, then get Samurai Showdown II. They're both good.

I never played SSII, but Kirby 64 is the sickness.

SamShoII kicks ass. I used to play it at Godfather's Pizza all the time. The best Samurai in my opinion.

The Samurai Showdown series is kinda mediocre. I've played 3 and 4, neither one impressed me. I can't imagine 2 would be any better.
Kirby all the way.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Samurai Shodown is a weak series, but with all the superior brawlers out there, I wouldn't pick it over Kirby 64, a very underrated segment of the franchise.

Never underestimate Samurai Shodown II. It actually is MUCH better than III in my opinion. I never liked 3 because of the stupid multiple personality charaters with , what was it "normal" and "bust" or something. 3 sucked for sure, but 2 was the best, I haven't played 4, but three was enough Shodown for me.
Edit: If you like fighting games, I would go with Samurai Shodown. Otherwise, I'm sure Kirby is just as good.

Syd, no wonder you didn't like Samurai Shodown... you played the worst ones in the series!
The only awesome ones were 1, 2, and 5 Special.
Yeah, can't go wrong with Kirby either.

Bomberman has it right there. Samurai Shodown II kicks ass for so many reasons. 3 sucked, and 4 was enh. 1,2 and 5 is where it's at.

Only Kirby game I played was Dream Course. Surprisingly lots of fun, though I was never a real Kirby fan to begin with. SSII is definitely a good game, but don't let my vote sway you.

Samurai Shodown is good, but can be had on so many different formats. The only way you're going to get Kirby 64 is either on VC or an N64 (there is emulation, but Kirby 64 runs pretty badly on Project64).

I ended up getting Kirby 64, mostly because there's a Samurai Shodown Anthology coming out sometime later this year or early next year. Kirby 64 is as fun as I remembered.

Yeah, that's going to be fun. Most likely going to get it on PS2, since I prefer the PS2 controller over the Wiimote or Classic Controller.
