This 5' long motherfucker is what I get to call homework. Though there are many things that make University spectacular, the fact that I get to do this shit all semester is amazing.

In America, the colloquial for all institutes of higher learning is "college". Using the single noun "university" when not part of a proper name or preceded by an article, is considered grammatically awkward.

It's different in Canada, University and College are different in terms of "quality" I guess. In the States, from what I understand, College and University are more or less the same thing.

I'm not too worried about Massachuesitians, it's the Texans that I find to be the most stuborn, and when they get stuborn, they get violent, and they mean business.

You must have never been to Massachusetts if you think they are not stubborn. I will just say it once since there are so many in this forum, but they aren't called Massholes just because its a convenient play on words. Very Happy

Texas is now planning an invasion of Canada. I'm in Pa and don't give a shit, but I was informed, as they took the long way through Pa, since they were too stubborn to ask for directions, and they know how to get to Niagra Falls.

Yeah.....so anyway, I built it for Sculpture II. It caused me a lot of stress and it's a piece of shit, but whatever. I also get to draw naked chicks.

Back in my second year in college I spent a good 2-3 days building a snow ramp from the ground to my dorm window on the second floor with my dormmate. Biggest waste of time ever. It melted in about a week.

Aren't Universities state driven? You know, like U of Whatever and all that jazz. If I'm not mistaken colleges are either private schools or institutions like Rasmussen College. We have a good deal of both where I live. Either way, it's still school to me whether you call it a U or college.

I'm not an expert on all of this, but, at least where I am, the understanding runs something like this:

I am attending a university, and at my university there are a group of colleges. For example, the College of Arts & Sciences, or the College of Fine Arts, the College of Education, the College of Business, etc. I am currently in the College of Arts & Sciences as an International Studies major. So, while we use the term "college" to describe an institution of higher learning, I am in fact attending a university, in which I am enrolled in a certain college.

At Yale University they call the dorm/living sections "colleges".

These are not to be confused with the individual colleges that one can study at within the university.

I went to the University of Delaware. I stayed there for 1.5 years and then left. I have never graduated with a degree and don't think I could. I have been diagnosed with OCD and ADD. Unfortunately the meds I can take for one adversely effects the other. In order for my Dr. to formalize his diagnosis I needed to take a neurological test. My ability to learn and understand was in the 98th percentile, however my ability to sustain concentration was well below 50%. If I take Ritalin I am incredibly focused and can use my intellect very well, however I turn into a wicked ass hole who I despise. So its not worth it.

And the preceding paragraph is a perfect example of an OCD tangent. It has nothing to do with what school I went to.

What is the point?.... I can't learn the same way other people can. I never will be able to. College/University is not an option for me. However, I am smart enough to enter a debate about what the terms mean and make meaningful points until I feel the need to explain shit that is irrelevant.

Says the guy from the South of the North. We may not have a clever name for people from New Hampshire, but we don't need one. New Hampshire's the only state I've ever been to where you can buy bullets, beer, and condoms at your local gas station and use all three on the car ride home without any major consequence. It's also the only state I've ever been to where people enjoy NASCAR. Razz

Wow you guys...apparently my project was a hit, but some bitch who I've seen like twice made a fuckin' Gameboy. With Tetris on the screen. I got mega-owned. And I think my prof. called me a man whore Confused

Anyway, the only difference here between college and university is the courses offered. I go to the University of the Fraser Valley, but if you want a further head-fuck, it used to be the University College of the Fraser Valley.
