So Syd, now that MM9's out, how about adding those Robot Masters (and Mistress) to the 8-bit Master article?

If I can somehow get screengrabs of the boss select screen as well as the level load screens with each boss, then I definitely will.
That or I'll just do a second article with ratings for MM9, M&B, MM1PC, and MM3PC

MM&B had some pretty good robot masters I thought. Burner Man and Pirate Man were cool.

I wouldn't mind seeing Syd's opinion on ClownMan and FrostMan.

Don't forget MM8. |
Actually I believe Syd addressed that ages ago when I first joined. If I remember correctly, it was basically due to MM8 being on the SNES and not on an 8-bit console that denied it coverage.

Mega Man 8 was on Playstation/Saturn. Mega Man 7 was on SNES and was covered on the list.

Actually, the only reason MM8 wasn't included the first time around was because it was on the PSX/Saturn and I wasn't sure the computer I was using at the time could run a PSX or Saturn emulator and get the screen grabs.

You said in the Retrospective article that it was because MM8 was released in 1997, outside of your 1980-1995 focus. Though, to be fair, MM8 did kinda suck; the Mega Man X games on the same system were more fun, in my opinion.
Speaking of Mega Man X, Syd, is there a possibility that you'll ever make an article on the MMX mavericks?

I've heard that MM8 is being converted to 8-bit to satify the fan boys after MM7 was converted.

Let's get one thing straight, once and for all: None of the classic Mega Man games suck, period.

Personally I thought MM6 was the weakest, followed by MM8. As video games they are good, but as MegaMan games they're poor compared to the others.

Please, please tell me why MM8 sucked.
Also, the individual boss shots for MM9 can be taken from here. |
Mega Man 8 was the weakest of the classic series. Now, it wasn't by any means horrible, but the game was simply not as exciting as the previous games. To magnify this, the stage music felt too ambient, something that doesn't exactly fit well in a Mega Man game.
Oh, and it loses major points for the snowboard sections.

I'd say 8 was better than 7.

Usually I would agree on that, since the sound effects in the seventh game were borderline PATHETIC, but the game was still more fun.
Even so, both installments are still knocked to the ground by the X Series, which was far more successful on the SNES and PS1, making Megaman 7 and 8 almost obsolete.
