I think so long as we keep the discussion civil and don't start attacking each other, things are gonna be fine.

As far as the economy goes...did everyone forget we had a couple of planes crash into the cornerstone of our financial system and destroy them? That hurt our economy more than anything Bush could have done. So let's not blame him entirely. I do think it's absolutely stupid to run 2 wars without paying for them, though. That part of our economy is his fault.

Quote:
If he just told everyone the real reason he was invading, to remove Saddam and bring stability to Iraq, then I doubt people would hate him so much.

That's not a valid reason to invade another country. You can't go in just because you don't like the ruler, you need some sort of pretext to do it. Tying it to 9/11 was just political fearmongering, but the WMD issue was valid in my eyes. The man has a history of attacking his neighbors, it was well known he wanted them and would have started just as soon as the world weren't watching him like a hawk, and he certainly didn't do a lot to -disprove- the notion he didn't have them.

If the aftermath of the invasion wasn't so botched up, we'd be out of this by now. I don't think that was Bush's fault so much as the cronies that surround him.

Quote:
I know Canada is over there right now even though it shouldn't really involve us.

Canada shares our border, our air defense, origins, and largely our form of government and way of life*. And without a doubt is America's closest ally. This absolutely involves you.

Quote:
Yeah, well, the best thing a president can do is pick the right people for a job, and if all he can do is pick an administration brimming with incompetent or corrupt, and if George can't even do that, he doesn't deserve any slack or excuse.

A fair point. It shows a lack of good judgment. Which the man clearly has ("Heckuva job, Brownie")

*Don't start nitpicking about the differences, I know they're there. It doesn't mean Canada is "America Jr". But we're very similar, really.

Also, is this an implication that I am looking my nose down at anyone who's not in grad school regarding political knowledge?
If so- shove it.
If not- disregard and my apologies for misunderstanding.

No, I am saying that you don't need 4 to 5 years of Graduate school political debates to know that something is terribly wrong.

He was the worst president so far in my lifetime. Worse than his daddy. Long live Billy the Kid!

That implies Bush Sr. was a bad president, which he wasn't. His presidency, like Clinton's, was largely unremarkable and that's a good thing. He sent us off to short, easily won war, he appointed the second African-American Supreme Court Justice, and that was pretty much it. If he hadn't changed his mind on "no new taxes" and if Perot hadn't ran in 1992, he would have handily won a secon a term.

I had a picture in my photobucket account that explains my view on this, but I'm not at my computer.

Bush sucks.

I seem to be baffled at the Bush's interest in the Middle East. Too bad Operation Iraqi Whatever couldn't have lasted as long as Desert Storm. I forgot, didn't it last somewhere around 72 hours?

I think that Bush and his administration has brought down the moral of the American people.

His choices and public speaking have made the US look bad to other countries.

As an American I feel discouraged to have him as my president. I consider any replacement to be a victory for this country..

There, fixed. And I agree, I have zero pride in my country. I actually want to obtain dual citizenship in the US and Canada, and perhaps full citizenship in Canada. Fuck this country, and the depressed state it is in. See what I mean? Who really is proud to be an American that isn't a total redneck or a politician?

I'd say you win, but we all lose.

Morale, is the correct spelling that I wish I had used.

The moral here is that I should have fucking thought about what I was typing so that I didn't have to defend myself.

Later.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Wait a sec.

Zero pride in your country? I said that I had no faith in the administration and that the morale was down.

Don't take for granted that you are free to choose your religion, job, education, and speak out loud.

We have had some bad years and I feel that G.W. has made things worse. But I'm not fucking leaving or saying a bad thing about this country as a whole.

Also I would say that the majority of people who I know are not politicians, they are not rich, and they are not hicks. I do think that most of them are proud to claim themselves as Americans though.

Yes, I love to make generalizations, I'm so bad like that. Actually I'm like a nomad. I work like that. I need to move, settle, move, settle. I do however, blame G Dubbs for my sour attitude towards the U. S. of A. The past eight years have been a bumpy ass shit ride towards a pool of expired Juicy Juice with rotten eggs in it. I didn't vote for him the second time around so I have a right to bitch. GW could have handled a lot of things he did a lot better. That and the fact when I hear him give an address, he sounds like he's a bit retarded when he speaks. I'm just sick and tired of this shitty ass system pushing me around all the time. I'd much rather move the hell out of here when the Great Depression of 20XX hits.

No offense man, times are hard and lots of people are losing homes, but most people are still eating. Its just not easy.

It will get better. Don't give up on the people who live in this country just because the leader (for only a few more months) can't make a good decision.

I don't really feel any issues with Bush the person, but the Bush administration on the other hand is a different story.

I can't help but feel I'm feeding the troll here, but I have to ask: what the fuck, dude? I kinda remember you responding in discussions somewhat normally. This is bordering on RegalSin or MegamanBlaster1234-style.

Agreed. If you're going to respond, you could always do so without sounding retarded. Funny is one thing, and we can all definitely appreciate funny if it's done without being a dick, but you seem a little too angry all the time to pull it off.

Yeah, I've calmed down a bit now. Sorry for being a douche, I'm just a little wound up with deadlines and homework and confusion as well as this new 700 billion dollar bailout thing, along with rising gas prices and other shit. Maybe it's all because I'm getting older. The old US of A isn't that bad, you guys are right, I'm just flustered with all this shit I'm hearing on the news as well as this "hollywood" election coming up. And on that note I will say G dubbs fucked up and someone needs to clean up the mess before it gets any worse.
