Just watched it again. I hadn't seen it in a while. I can totally understand why people think it is garbage. But there isn't any reason to hate it. I think its a likable movie. I know even Sly has said he doesn't like it. I just can't imagine that it was made with any intention of being anything other than what it is.

I don't know. Maybe its just me. But movies like this, Howard the Duck, Leonard Part 6, Caddyshack 2, Suburban Commando, etc all get commonly refered to as if they were the worst movie ever. I can watch any of these movies or movies like this anytime its on.

Howard The Duck is quite possibly one of the greatest films ever made. This is not a fucking joke.

This is all.

I loved Howard The Duck when I was younger. Whether that was due to the effect Lea Thompson had on my pubescent brain, I don't know. I'll have to rewatch it. Stop or My Mom Will Shoot on the other hand ... not so much.

I'll say this: the screenwriter for Stop or My Mom Will Shoot is a really sharp guy. He wrote a book on screenwriting that should be required reading for any film student who wants an actual career. He knows how to write scripts that sell.

Howard the Duck is great. Caddyshack 2 I like as well, not as much as the first one, but I think it gets a bad rap being a sequel and having a lesser main comedian aggressor, being Jackie Mason, instead of Rodney Dangerfield.

I think one of the major problems with Caddyshack 2 is not just the fact that it was a sequel, but the attitude and target audience changed. The change in personnel is probably the biggest difference, but it also went from being an R-rated film the first time around to being PG-rated for the sequel.

I think you are all right. I don't think it helped that Caddyshack was already a classic by te time the second one came out 8 years later.

But yeah, the only notable returning cast memeber (or maybe the only one peiod. I can't remember) was Chase. And that was a small role.

Yeah, and the story line was miserable - I seem to remember like a rainbow colored grass - its like you try to watch that movie and you dont laugh and then you lose focus on the film within an hour. I think that is what makes it worse than the poor humor.

Howard the Duck was pretty awesome when I watched it back in the day, as was Suburban Commando. I'd watch them again if they're on TV for old times sake.

I still don't think Howard the Duck is on DVD. I keep waiting. But I may have to go about getting it using other means like I had to do with Gleaming the Cube. When it finally came to DVD, it was only out a short time before they quit making it. Now if you want the DVD its like 30 bucks. Its a good movie, but its the kind of movie that should be in a $5 bin, not 30 bucks from some greedy asshole who thinks its a collectable.
