Seriously, fuck that kid. Whether it's Superbad, Gay ass Juno or this new indy cutesee wannabe movie Nick and Norah's Infinite Cockfest or whatever it's called, this kid fucking sucks. I know he's an actor and all that, but really, how much of an actor are you when all of your films roles are based on the same type of character? Yet, I don't get the hate Shia LaBouf gets.

He also recently said he wouldn't be interested in an Arrested Development movie. If the movie doesn't get made because he felt he was too important now, I'll be pissed to no end.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist pisses me off in general, because it's just playing off the popularity of Juno. It even uses the same fucking font for the title.
I'm also sick of Seth Rogen. I get the impression he'd be a really cool guy to hang out with, but he needs to learn how to cut at least 30 minutes off every movie he writes.

The movie certainly doesn't try hard to avoid the Juno comparisons. But I doubt those comparisons would be as frequent if Michael Cera wasn't playing the lead. By the time Juno came out they were almost done with shooting, so Juno's success was not the reason they cast him. Plus it's based on a novel that was popular long before Juno was released. I have no idea how much Juno's success influenced the work they did in post-production, but the similarities look more like a coincidence than an conscious attempt to cash in on Juno's popularity.

N&N looks terrible, but who wouldn't bang the shit out of Kat Dennings?
Also, if Cera ends up being the reason that the AD movie isn't made, I'm going to make sure his voice stays that high forever.

it's called being typecast, cut the kid a break.
I do agree he should die if he's the sole holdout on an AD movie though.

I liked him in AD and Superbad. His role in Juno really wasn't that big, I mean he knocks her up but other than that he's not in the movie all that much. I like him and hope he changes his mind about an AD movie.

Yeah, but he still has the option of saying "No" to another cookie-cutter, cutesy movie like every single one he's already been in...

Much like Sir Ian McKellan declined to take over the role of Dumbledore after the original actor died because he didn't want to be typecast.
It's a good thing he wasn't typecast after Apt Pupil, because it must be hard for a gay Jew to play a Nazi and do it so well.

I really don't think Ian McKellan had to worry about being typecast. There aren't a whole lot of wizard roles out there. And I believe he had already been Magneto by the time Richard Harris died anyway.
Anyway, what the fuck do you guys want from Michael Cera? It's not like he can play a slasher, an action hero, or a veteran cop on the brink of madness. What else is there?
And why pick him on him when there are far more prolific actors (Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Jon Heder) who are equally lazy?

I think he'd be an awesome action hero. But I think he could only pull it off as a nerdy guy who got thrust into things.
Or if the did a movie about school shootings.

Hey, I'm all for picking on Jack Black, I think Family Guy got his number in their parody of his movies (as in he's always playing a rebellious party animal who disturbs authority figures with his hollering) but we were bashing Michael Cera. Also, I kinda want to punch him everytime I see him (Cera, not Black, though he deserves to be punched as well), if he had gone to my high school I would probably have hated the kid.

I like him. He was great on AD and pretty decent on Super Bad. He's a bumbling dorky kid. That's what he does. To add to Syd's list, what about Woody Allen. He plays the same neurotic jew in every movie.
Also, when did Juno become the target of hatred to so many people? Not just here, but people i've talked to and other things i've read on the internet. It wasn't my cup of tea, because the subject matter simply wasn't that interesting to me, but It was well written, well directed, and the actors all did a good job. It was a far cry from a terrible movie.

Yeah but Cage is a grown ass man. Cera is only 20. He looks young on top of it. He probably won't be able to do a whole lot outside of the teenage roles. Unless we are talking about something like If Looks Could Kill or Agent Cody Banks, I don't really know what he could do to make a contribution to the action genre that would be better than what he is doing now.

I also dislike Michael Cera for some reason I can't put my finger on.
I thought Juno was kinda hot so it was weird to me that she would have sex with him to begin with. I mean its just a movie, but I just know girls who sorta got the Juno look and dont sleep with dudes that look like Cera, Correct me if I am wrong somebody
The new movie he is in the girl is even hotter and they probably have it so she sleeps with him.I sort of think of Cera as like the skinny Angus, he isnt suppose to get laid

Ellen Page really isn't hot. My girlfriend borrowed Juno from Blockbuster and we watched the special features, which included an audition thing with her and Michael Cera. He looks basically the same, but without makeup she's pretty hideous. Also, the guy who works at the convenience store in Juno (Dwight from The Office) is apparently a total douchebag and doesn't like working with children.

Yeah, but Ellen Page can act.
She can more then the smarmy rebel outcast schoolgirl.
For proof, see Hard Candy.
