It could easily happen. A Mario game is a lot easier to make than a Zelda game because there's no emphasis on plot.

Well, Mario has a plot. A very simple one.

Yeah, that was more of my point. It's not plotless, but it isn't plot-driven either.

Yes, but there is a zero percent chance of M3GA MAN ever having sex. So there will not be a Mario game.

From a game design point of view though, I imagine that a new Mario would take more time because there are more levels, more repetition and less weapons and items. If it isn't done well, the game could feel like a ripoff of its predecessor.

Normally when an unlockable takes that much time, I say fuck it. But I just had to unlock that level and did. For me, it was worth it.

Back to the subject, I could care less about another Mario but I want another Zelda for sure. They have to give the Wii an exclusive one, it'd be bullshit if they didn't. I consider TP a Gamecube game since that's what it was made for in the first place. It was much better on the GC for me, I'm a button-pushing kinda guy.

I also agree on another F-Zero, GX is the best racing game I've ever played. I'm not big on racing games but that one was balls to the wall.

well, seeing how mario is one of the top sellers on the DS, i would say they eventually will have to make a sequel to New Super Mario Bros. Granted, it will be on the DS, not the Wii, but at least its something

I have yet to see a bad portable Mario, though.

NSMB was well-designed, but the turtle suit sucked and the game was waaaaaaaaaaaay too easy.

I also liked the turtle suit.

There will be another 2D Mario game I'm sure. Unfortunately, it will probably be on the DS or a future handheld. I'd love to see a 2D Mario game on the Wii, with the 3D graphics and such that we had in NSMB.

A 2D platformer would actually work quite nice on the Wii. Take LostWinds for example. Perfect controls, even if you steer away from the traditional controller setup. Yet, the game is great. Except for the music, which makes me sleep.

I have a feeling that Nintendo will release a new Mario title near the end of the Wii's lifespan, but it will be PACKED with features. Like, standard controls for the Wii (Nunchuk+Wiimote) for some of the game, and in some parts you have to use the Wiimote like a NES controller. Some levels would be in that weird 3D/2D hybrid, like NSMB, but some secret areas revert to 8-bit Mario. Basically, I'd like to see a Mario title that squeezes out every capability of the Wii.

And I wanna crap rainbows.

Using a system to its full potential doesn't happen until it's replaced.

How about another solid Donkey Kong platformer, made like Rare would make it, not a damn rythm game. I hope DK64 makes it on the VC eventually.

I have been wanting this for some time. And no more new kongs, the lineup they have now is more than enough. DK64 was alright, but they need to bring back the animals to ride around, and really strive for more of a 3D realization of what the games on the SNES offered.

I really dig the illusion-3D effect they used in DKC.

They wanted to make you think it was in 3D, but looking back now, you see it isn't. This gives the game that special charm, you know?

Also: Brawl demonstrated that a Metroid sidescroller would work pretty damn well on the Wii... Or a Donkey Kong game... Or a Mario one... Basically, anything. Brawl is a stable platforming game engine. Throw in more Metroid-themed levels and you have yourself a kickass game.

Come on. That Samus stage was fucking awesome and you know it.

It was alright, I just like to play as ZSS. It was frustrating at some parts.
