Heres the short of it. 2d fighter with anime girl stereotypes fighting on the PS2.
Not actually gay, really competant. Has a system where you select an arcana, which gives you specials and a super, so if you play a character and you want some projectiles, just select the light arcana and boom, instant hadouken.

My friend had it and we played a lot of it when he was in town. If I could actually get a hold of a copy I would have had the time to practice its intricacies. But nobody sells it. Sad

I heard of it, and the sequel's at an arcade here in the city, but I never played it sadly =/

I heard good and bad about it on my other forum, basically that the arcanas and shit added a new level of strategy and action to the fighting, and air battling's awesome shit, but at the same time, they complained that it was slow and highly stereotypical, even saying the characters are basically "Loli schoolgirl 1, Loli schoolgirl 2, etc, and one interesting character". I could stand the design, me being me of course, but is it that slow as they say it is?

They are kinda right. The characters move forward very slowly. Its not like guilty gear, but I prefer a more deliberate pace.

If you find it at gamestop for $10, buy it. Its definitely worth that much.

I would like to note if you put it that way, street fighter is basically "battle of the international stereotypes", virtua fighter would be "battle of the martial arts stereotypes", darkstalkers would be "battle of the movie monsters", and bloody roar would be "battle of the werefurs".

I thought the mechanics were sound, even with the "catgirl versus french maid" nature of the thing.

Hey, instead of Ryu, Ken Masters, Chun Li, Zangief, Balrog, and Vega it could've been Squinty, Todd Whitey, Ching Chang Chong, Drunken Bastardski, Jayquon, and Vaguely Gay Zorro. I'd count ourselves lucky.

I guess that's true. It's all in the clever naming of the characters.

I'm on the sequel, especially if it has a Turbo mode.
