Who would you bet money on if these educational TV show hosts got into rumble?
Beakman has his homies, Lester and Josie, to back him up.
Bill Nye has an army of teenage assistants to do his bidding.

Beakman was way more entertaining. Wacky, but not to the point of being spastic. The computer animations and experiments were all well done and informative, plus he had the added advantage of using mail-in questions to lead into experiments.
Then there was the time Lester ripped a phonebook in half, that was cool.

I voted for Beakman, but let's not forget that Bill Nye was on one of those robot battle shows as their science expert, I think it was Battlebots.

I'll say Nye because his body of work, including the surprisingly informative Eyes of Nye program was pretty good.
Plus, current day Beakman looks like he wants to beat the shit out of somebody or do weird avant-garde stuff.

Beakman was a character. Bill Nye is an actual scientist. I saw him weigh in on CNN about the issue of human cloning a couple of years ago.

Whoa, I clicked on the link and I've got to agree with BorneAgain, current day Zaloom looks kinda scary. But he's also a political satirist, which I give him more credit for.

Bill Nye. I waved to him and he waved back! That, and my somewhat Anti-beakmen post i made on a too-similar like thread some time ago.

Yes, but it is a hypotetical combat, so I didn't think some little technicality, like death would get in the way.
