So I beat the game, big deal. But even when I reset the software (and it asks if I'm sure, all shit will be lost, and I say yes), I'm still getting the beatles (Not the band (bad joke)).
If I can't go back to the goombas, I'll be pissed. If I can and just was too stupid to figure it out on my own, I'll be pissed. Either way, I guess I'll be pissed. But I need help. WTF's the deal?

Fuck that shit! If that is indeed the only way to go back, I'll just play without the goombas. Fuck 'em.

I think you actually have to exit the game. A soft reset didn't get rid of the beetles in the NES version either.

I've reset. I've quit, turned off the Wii, reset then turned off the Wii, played two days later, sill bulletproof fire retardant asses roaming around in goomba turf.

You know, this whole "I CAN SAVE GAMES SOMEHOW" schtick of the VC is really weird for me.
How does it work, actually? Sometimes it saves my SMB3 game, and sometimes it doesn't. What's that all about?

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

if you hit the home key, and then you point and click on wii menu, you have to wait for the wii menu to pop up so it can do a 'soft save' on your game. that way you start where you left off the last time you were playing the game.
if you turn off the wii before the wii menu comes up, then it doesnt save.
