I'm from the USA and I've known Mario to be a plumber since I was 3 years old. What does it have to do with Europe?
Has anyone here besides this one miscreant ever been upset with the fact Mario is a plumber? |
Um...E.U. Stands for extended universe (i.e.cartoons, comics, stickers), not Europe. And even if I did mean Europe, I would have the decency to spell it out.
I accept your apology. |
I'm sorry, I don't speak in Star Wars loser idiot talk. Here in reality, where everyone knows Mario is a plumber, EU stands for EUROPE.

Why would they make a game around an animal that can't even speak? |
There have been quite a few games based on animals that were pretty amazing. Yoshi's island (not actually sure if he can talk), Pokemon games, the upcoming game (can't remember the name) on the Wii where you play as a scorpion and a spider, just to name a few. |
are you serious? I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. Thanks for telling me that there have been successful animal games.

I think most of the Fett badassery comes from the Extended Universe. |

Yeah, Fett survives in the EU.

Not to shift blame, of course.

Why would you want to play an RPG based around Mario? Because the Mario RPGs (Super, Paper, Paper 2, Superstar Saga, and Partners in Time) are fantastic. They're funny and inventive and shit.
And considering the truly horrible games that Mario has been thrown in, it seems pretty retarded to criticize him for being in an RPG that's actually good.
A better question is why the hell would I want to play a snowboarding game based around FF7?

I agree, hating on Mario RPG for Mario being a plumber is essentially hating on Mario, a symbol of all that is good and right with Video games. I agree with Syd, Mario has been thrown into some shitty games, and this one is pretty damned good. Plus, it was a cool change, why not Mario in an RPG, hell there was FF characters in a fighting game.

When you are running across the screen jumping on the heads of mushrooms who gives a fuck what your job is or if your pipe wrench is enchanted with +3 to your fireball launching ability. |
One. Mario doesn't use a wrench. Hammers, yes. Mallets, sure. Wrenches no. Only the Movie Mario had a wrench.
Besides, Mario's a doctor. He only pretends to be a plumber and "rescues" Princess Peach because PP is unsatisfied with her marriage to Bowser and wants to spice up her sex life. Mario, her doctor, roleplays to get her off.
I will not explain it again. |
Bowser likes to stick the king koopa in her poopa.
King koopa is what he calls his wang. Afterwards, he started calling it the firesnake.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Mario referred to as a plumber in every Mario game with a character profile, or a substantial amount of text.

Ok, I will say this. The game is a very cool and good concept and its not that I can't get into it. It just gets a bit repetitive killing the same enemies at the start. I just started playing like 20 minutes ago and I'm at the first forest part thing where theres like 2 flying koopas.

You need to play a videogame for more than 20 minutes to be able to say anything substantial about it. Well, most people do.
I'm convinced that you couldn't say anything substantial, no matter how long you played it.
