Anyone else pick this up? It has:
Art of Fighting
Baseball Stars 2
Burning Fight
Fatal Fury
King of the Monsters
Last Resort
Magician Lord
Metal Slug
Neo Turf Masters
Samurai Showdown
Sengoku
Shock Troopers
Super Sidekicks 3
KOF '94
Top Hunter
World Heroes
Pretty damn solid.

Yup,
It's a nice little package, but the only bad thing is that in order to unlock all the extras you MUST be playing the games on single player. A HUGE majority (if not all) of these games are two payer arcade games, and it becomes incredibly difficult to unlock bonus stuff when one of the requirements is to beat a game on super hard mode (Geese Howard in Fatal Fury is next to impossible).
Also, World Heroes has to be unlocked by getting "10 medals" I think. The whole medal system is a little weird.
Hopefully SNK will release Volume 2 and include some older titles like the original Arcade Ikari Warriors or Psycho Soldier. Actually, I'd be happy if they just included King of the Monsters 2 on the package, although I'm not sure if they ever released that game in the arcades.

I'd like to see Shock Troopers 2 on the next one too. The art direction took a huge turn towards anime with the sequel, but the gameplay remained just as fun.

World Heroes isn't worth unlocking. I have it on SNES and it's kind of awful. In fact the only fighting games on that list I'd play are King of Fighters and MAYBE Samurai Showdown.

You can't base your opinion on the SNES version. World Heroes and King of Monsters are markedly better in their arcade incarnations.

Top Hunter and Sengoku are pretty good games as well, and Burning Fight is pretty much SNK's version of Final Fight/Streets of Rage. I guess I'm the only person here who likes the original Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting games, but their respective collections are always good to grab up I suppose.
I didn't get into KoF until recently, but still, 94's AI is pretty brutal, especially going up against Rugal. The worst thing is in the hi-def 94 remake, they made the AI even cheesier.
To add to my list, The Last Blade would be a good addition to Vol 2.

You'd be better off picking up the Metal Slug Anthology then.

I'm actually a big fan of Fatal Fury 2, but the first game simply didn't have enough. Of anything. I'd also like the first Art of Fighting game if you could choose any character for the story mode.

Geese Motherfucking Howard.
But then again, I'm biased. Forget about Bison, Geese Howard will toss his ass.
Krauser's cool too.

Did SNK do Fighters History? World Heroes is similar to that game, IIRC.

That's the game where Karnov is the last boss right? I'm pretty sure it's a Data East game then.

Smurf is right. The main similarity is they both have a character named Ryoko.

Ugh. bad memories associated with Geese in Fatal Fury 1. Took me 50 times, 50 FUCKIN TIMES to beat him just because of his Reppuken and throws being so lethal.
Other than Garou, Fatal Fury Special and Real Bout FF2 are the best in that series,
