This kid is a fucking pussy. He refused to be moved up into the more advanced leagues, so he could dominate beginner 9 year olds. Good job banning this little prick. If your not willing to play with people at the same skill level as yourself, then you don't have the competitive spirit needed to be good anyway.

I don't know. I think that he should be able to finish the season out. They said he was 8-0 and was entering the playoffs. I would be pissed if I was going to be kicked out of a league for being too good right at the post season.

I think it would be reasonable to ask him to switch leagues after the season was finished.

P.S. Watch out for that 40MPH fastball.

That's a valid point. I also thought 40mphs wasn't that crazy... I thought that was about what 9 year olds threw anyway. I remember being like 12 and getting clocked in the mid 60's... granted thats 3 years, and i was by no means accurate at 65mph, but I wasn't a prodigy either.

I actually wrote about this in my blog a week ago (Link to blog in my signature!) so feel free to read what I said.

He's clearly a pussy. There's no chance he wants to play the game with his fucking friends who are his own age, not a bunch of older kids he doesn't know and will either resent him for being young or put more pressure on him than a 9 year old needs.

If you're a 9 year old kid and have potentially only been playing for a couple years, 40 MPH is pretty fast. Don't forget, this is a fucking little league field too. That 40 MPH fastball isn't traveling 60 feet before the kid has to swing; I don't know the actual dimensions, but it's gotta be at MOST half that distance.

I got bumped up in Little League, but I quit right afterwards, because all of the coaches were mid-life crisis douchebags who forced anyone who wasn't related to them or one of their friends to sit on the bench.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

The kid plays for fun and enjoy's being good where he is like a lot of people would. He's not a pussy I don't think, he just does it for recreation and not to be really competetive.

If he wanted to advance his overall development he would go to the higher level but he's just a 9 year old kids who wants to have fun with his friends. If he left he might piss his friends off if he is their star player and they do poor because he wanted to play Mr. Bigshot and go up higher, you bet the parents would be pissed and if he wanted to play his age again he'd have a rough go of it.

I don't know why you have to jump all over it and call him a pussy.

I was going overboard on it intentionally. I was more just giving a counter point to the literally millions of people who were astonished that a kid could be banned for being too good. Jeebus, if he wants to have fun and not be competative like you say, then he should have no problem stepping down from the mound. Everyone else is wanting to have fun, and if his pitches are scaring the beginners, thats not fun for them. You may have fun playing dodgeball with the retarded kids, but that is still not fair to them. Sorry, but if you want to be competitive, you should be competing against your skill level,

A major league diamond distance from the mound is sixty feet six inches to the plate - a youth league is considerably shorter - a 40 MPH fastball is much faster on that diamond - especially when you are nine.

Not saying that the parents are fucking fuckasses for getting him kicked out.

You're missing my point though. Is it so hard to imagine that the kid
1. Likes pitching and
2. Wants to hang out and be on a team with his friends?

This whole "being competitive" attitude that people are bitching about shows a real lack of understanding of what it is to be a fucking 9 year old kid. I'm not going to pretend I remember what I was like when I was 9, but having a sister who is 11 years younger than me, I still have a pretty good recollection of when she was 9 and the mindset/attitudes that she and her other stupid little 9 year old friends had. Just because the kid is good doesn't mean he wants to be competitive. What is so bad about letting a kid have fun with his friends while learning teamwork and stuff?

I was just thinking...

The kid may not be psychologically be prepared for being around older kids.

Yes, but your missing the point that his pitching makes the game not fun to many other kids. If your playing for fun, that's great, but everyone should have fun. I know it's probably not even the kid, but more the parents, but it needs to be decided: Do I let my kid have fun in a non-competative fashion, knowing that he may not develop to his full potential, or do I move him up and further develop his skill. That is hard for a kid to decide. Everyone wants to be good at what they do, but like you said, 9 year olds just want to have fun.
