New Browser by Google released today thats alot better than Firefox(Which I have always hated), seems to use less memory too.

They built it from scratch but it seems to contain code from Safari and Mozilla.

Thanks for the heads up. The Incognito mode makes me raise an eyebrow though. Serving the public I see, Google. Too bad all our searches are going back to your headquarters.

I read about this yesterday. They made a comic explaining the things they're trying to do differently. A lot of the UI is similar to Opera, which is good, because it's much better than that of Firefox. I also like the idea of having separate processes for each tab. I'd try the beta, but unfortunately they're taking their time with non-Windows versions.

I'm using it now and find that it is pretty robust. Has a document element inspector built in.

It's cool shit.

I like how you can adjust any text window, like the quick reply ones here.

That's a really weird feature to implement. I'm trying to think when I'd use it, but, true, I like having the option.

The special porn browser would have been very useful a couple years ago, when i gave a shit about what people found on my computer.

I'm liking it's memory management pretty well so far. Seems to be using significantly less memory than Firefox, though with my cpu, and most cpu's these days, memory is almost a non-issue.

This reminds me of my geography teacher in school who once said that "the number of files you can store on those micro processors doubles each year". (Read: you meant to say that the amount of people's RAM makes memory a non-issue these days.)

Yes you are right. Although I was meaning to say computer as a whole, or the tower. I don't know why I do it, but I often refer to the entire computer as the CPU. This is especially bad on my part, because I used to get infuriated when I worked as a "tech" at a retail store, and people would refer to the tower as the modem, and the hard drive as ram etc.

Tyop,

One could argue that he was discussing an increase to L2 Cache.

Processors now have upwards of 12MB of fucking cache. 12MB. I bet when your geography teacher made his comment 12MB of memory would have cost around $50,000.

Which asshat administrator at your school led the Geography teacher to believe he was qualified to teach students about computers? Laughing

He didn't actually teach about computers, he just couldn't stay on topic. Kinda like us.
