Yes, I know it's just going to be on the PS3, but I'm a big fan of MGS (although also a purist so no Ghost Babel or Acid for me thanks much).
Anyway, I saw this new trailer for MGS4 where apparently Snake's wised up and gone from using cardboard boxes to oil drums, which even have use as armor and you can bowl over enemies by rolling in it. One shot near the end of this new trailer has Snake staying still and using his optic camo to look like a stone statue (he's posed on a dais with two other statues), when the guards leave the area he turns off the camo and the camera pans up, to reveal a 30's-something Snake taking a drag off a cig with a pidgeon dropping a crap on his cheek a few moments later.
I'm thinking this means one of two things:
1.) Snake finds some item that temporarily restores the cels damaged from accelerated aging (Although many people smoke cigs, I can only imagine one Son of Big Boss that smokes).
2.) It's a fourth snake (Solid, Liquid, Solidus...Plasma???)

I don't suppose anyone figured it was just a prelude thing or something, did they?
kind of like how you play as snake in MGS2, and then get stuck with raiden? you probably start out as young snake and then flash forward to busted ass old snake for the rest of the game.
