that games not downloaded from a disc tho. games on the 360 and ps3 can have DLC because it partially installs files on the harddrive. wii games can't have DLC because it's a fresh boot off the disc each time.

Yes, it's real DLC (like the aforementioned My Life as a King). It even has a red icon on the game box that indicates there's additional content you can pay for.

If the Wii had DLC we'd all be up to our eyeballs in SD cars, or we'd have to spend 30 minutes redownloading everything whenever we wanted to play a different game.
But really, not having tons of DLC is probably a good thing. It forces publishers to releases, you know, complete games. What we're seeing on XBL and PSN are games being released alongside "DLC" that when downloaded unlocks content that's already on the disc. It's not a good direction to start in. Of the many things I complain about on the Wii, this isn't one of them.
