Get the NBA Jam titles, All the Sonics, get a grasp of a decent number of SF and MK titles, some EA sports games, some good shmups like TF II, III and LF. The 6-pak cartridge (Streets of Rage, Columns, Super Hang-On, Sonic, Golden Axe and Revenge of Shinobi) is a decent one too, though I prefer each of those games by themselves. That would build a decent beginning collection.

The 32X is a good collector's system, but there is little to interest anyone in terms of titles. Besides Star Wars Arcade and a disappointing Virtua Racing Deluxe, there isnt much there to play thats any fun. Sure, games look enticing, but they certainly arent for the most part (case in point: for me it was Knuckles Chaotix that looked like a great game, but was absolutely disappointing).

More or less, that is how to build a good beginning Sega Genesis collection. In my opinion, anyways.

The Disney games are all pretty awesome:

Quackshot
Fantasia
Mickey's Castle of Illusion
Aladdin

There are probably some others.

YES

Kid Chameleon is very hard. Stupid last marathon always got me.

Go for the six button controller if you are going to play street fighter.

I like Syd's five the best. But I would definitely have Toejam & Earl on that list. But make sure its the first one and not the second. The game has had two sequels and for some reason, even though the first is the most popular, they haven't returned to that format.

But its probably expensive if you can find it. Not as expensive as some of the hot titles for the SNES (Mana, Mario RPG, etc), but it'll still cost you more than most games.

I disagree - but I also dont like Dynamite Headdy. Vectorman is a good game, but the sequel is only mediocre.

Didn't see it mentioned (but then again, I didn't look too incredibly hard) Ristar. It's difficult, strange, and you hump things and make them explode.
And the Power Rangers fighter. (Make sure it's the fighter that includes the Green Ranger and not the White one.)

But, owning my own Genesis and more games then I can keep track of I can say this: If you think you may have heard of it buy it. Chances are it's good. Or really bad. Either way, it's good. Right?
