Just started reading this story arc, got interested when I saw they were making new ones and checked out the older books in the series. Has anyone checked this out before? The concept behind it is quite cool. They also have Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness.

It is quite violent and very science-fictionesque.

Holy shit, is all I have to say.

I'm not a comic book buyer (I really should be, but what disposable income I have goes to games instead *shrug*) but this looks cool. What turned everyone Undead??

I read the collection of the first Zombies series. It was kind of an interesting concept until the very last pages, then I had to rolleye. Won't spoil it for anyone though.

The same question could be posed with Wolverine's healing factor. You might also like to know there's an Army of Darkness crossover.

Well, I could maybe buy that Wolverine's healing shut off when he died or something--I mean, he could heal like a mofo but he wasn't immortal (...right?). But rotting flesh still tears no matter what, and doesn't tend to stick back together real well.

AoD crossover is awesome, btw. Thanks for the info.

I have a book that I think has the whole original series in it. It was pretty interesting, but I didn't know they were doing more with it. Bow that they are I don't really feel like reading them, and I've been thinking about selling my book.

The Army of Darkness Crossover sounds awesome though, I'll have to look into that.

@Soldierhawk - Yea, essentially the zombie plague comes from another dimension and infects (nearly) all of Earth's superhumans, and thats how it starts. After the remaining zombified superheroes have feasted on most of the Earth's population, they have to deal with Galactus...as their hunger grows....

Also, they address the issues with decaying limbs and rotting muscle, it gets quite brutal for some of the characters.

I have read the first 3 series now (they are currently on the fourth), and I must say the second part is very intense. The third part is interesting and action packed, but not necessarily supplemental to the first two parts.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was a very interesting take on the characters and their dynamics with one another. It is also surprisingly introspective for them being mindless zombies.

EDIT: Here is something for the Deadpool fans.

I ripped these four pages from the first book of Marvel Zombies: 3. It portrays Zombie Deadpool and what becomes of him...

FYI: He is fighting Jennifer Kale and Wundarr the Aquarian.
Probably NSFW.....

Personally, I considered Marvel Zombies kinda meh (specially after seeing how the first one ended...).

Now, the Marvel Zombies/Army of Darkness crossover... That one is a must-read, if only because of Ash!

Marvel Zombies 3 was very good, and four has been pretty good so far.

Morbius kicks ass.

The one-liners are priceless. I love how Ash hits on every women superhero/villain that he comes across.

Oh ash. Laughing Laughing

I wasn't exactly thrilled with the Marvel Zombies books either, but I agree, MZ/AoD was pretty great. In terms of undead/reanimated corpses, I'm definitely much more in like with Blackest Night. Zombies with superpowers AND power rings? Just the Ventriloquist Scarface constructs alone were worth the price of purchase.

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.
