Well I hit my first 700 series. 225, 202, and a 289. I had the first 10 strikes but then when everyone started clapping and watching me the pressure mounted. I finished with a 716. I get a shirt for the 700 club, but damn it would have been nice to get that ring and $200 pro shop gift certificate. GRRRR!!!! |
Congrats!

Well bowling season started again, and the first week where you are supposed to sand bag for handicap I did way to good. I had a 222 average going into the 2nd week. I bowled a 400+ series, pretty shitty for actually trying. Last week I bowled the first 9 strikes and I'm in the 10th frame. I can tell everyone is watching because I don't see anyone approaching the lanes on either side. It's a 40 lane bowling alley and NO ONE is bowling. Of course I look back and I see people talking quietly all gathered around.
So I approach the lane and throw the ball just as I had before people start the "YEA"'s and it's going perfect and smashes into the pocket. I leave a solid 10 pin. The pins exploded and the 10 doesn't move an inch. I pick up the spare and strike for a 279. Fucking bowling...

I'm sure that I mentioned something before about going bowling with co-workers. Anyways, last month I bowled a new high score of 181. Started off pretty good by getting a strike in the first 3 frames.

I sucked more than I have ever sucked in a long time tonight. I couldn't hit a strike to save my life. I must need a new ball or something.

I SUCK at bowling, and my friends insist on liquoring me up before hand (there's a bar in the alley) so I do ridiculous things like lose control of the ball so it flies back in the the ball rack, or in to another lane. I don't think I've ever broken 100.

My uncle recently gave me one of his old Zones. I'm getting it drilled this week, and I think I'm going to try fingertips as well. This will be a bit like starting over again.

Depending on what you use now...I went from a 14lb urethane ball to a 16lb reactive resin ball. Definitely much improved throwing the same exact ball. Once you get the normalcy of the ball down it will just be a matter of adjusting to lane conditions.

I'm actually in a Sunday morning league at Oak Forest Bowl, where there's a lot of great bowlers in said league.
I average about a 155 in that league, but I am still in the process of learning how to hook my ball (an old Piranha), so once i get that going, I should be bumping that average up pretty good (hopefully).
We're about 22-28 or something in that league, so we're about slightly below the middle of the pack...but like I said, real good bowlers in that league.

Douche, what does it take to be a pro bowler?
I imagine you could win some tournaments with 289/279 type scores.

Right? He could use sydlexia.com as a sponsor and where a shirt with the new banner design.
EDIT: NO! He can put the design on this ball!
