I don't care how cheesy that might be, that was awesome. I'm sure when it aired, people criticized it and booed. But now I think it is safe to say that stood the test of time.

Had to either be 1987 or 1990 to celebrate the release of Robocop or Robocop 2. And you cant really tell from the video.

I wish I would have been there live to enjoy the hilarity. However, mid 80's to early 90's is my favorite time in wrestling.

IIRC, people were pissed off that RoboCop didn't fight the Four Horseman.

The clip is from Capitol Combat, a 1990 NWA/WCW PPV broadcast from Washington DC.
WCW was started in 1973 by Jim Crockett as an Atlanta-based NWA regional promotion. In 1988, Ted Turner bought it from him with the goal of taking it national. During this time period, WCW used NWA belts. In 1991, WCW became a separate entity from NWA, but maintained its affiliation. During this time, WCW debuted its own belts, but still had possesion of the NWA World Heavyweight Belt. That's why Ric Flair was often seen carrying around two belts, he held the WCW and NWA belts concurrently. In 1993, WCW completely split from NWA and usage of its heavyweight belt stopped.

I miss the good ole days of wrestling. Really, I miss the real competition between WWF and WCW/NWA, and the availability of other wrestling organizations in my area to be watched on tv (i.e. Smoky Mountain Wrestling, IWCCW, Eastern Championship Wrestling before it became Extreme and the ECW when all loved prior to WWE purchase)

The old fashioned ECW was insane.
I barely watched, but i saw it a few times as kid.
It freaked the hell out of me.
