What do you think a wrestler would do if you asked him to sign an autograph using an old gimmick? For example, what would Shane Douglas say if you asked him sign a Dean Douglas autograph, or maybe ask Stone Cold to sign a Stunning Steve autograph, or even something like asking Edge to sign Sexton Hardcastle or The Undertaker to sign Mean Mark Callous?
This is actually something that could make sense if you had some artifact with those alter egos, like an old program or poster or something. You think they'd play along, or you think they would get pissed?

Depends, on if they liked the character or not, I would suppose.
I'll let you be the first to try to have Glenn "Big Red Machine, Kane" Jacobs sign an 8x10 of Dr. Issac Yankem.

When you think about it, can you really consider any wrestler that appeared on WWF TV obscure? They got national exposure, which is more than a lot of people get.
And Knyte, fuck you for that picture. I'm trying to forget about that.

Hey, there is no shame in being Jerry Lawler's private dentist.

It has become apparent that finding obscure wrestlers is next to impossible. I think instead this forum topic should be about obscure characters.
Such as Kevin Thorn's first character in WWE, Mordecai. If you blinked durring a few week span you would have missed him. In fact, I think his pre-debut vignettes lastest longer than his character did.

Crazy J is pretty cool, although I have never been able to find a full match of his.

That is what I was doing already. Obscure wrestlers (the actual people) would probably be either guys from indy promotions/old territories who never made it to the big show or guys like the old school no name jobbers in WWF, other than guys like Barry Horowitz, Steve Lombardi, or Iron Mike Sharpe who were more well known. Actually, I never understood why Sharpe was a jobber. He did pretty well in the territories. Then he had his initial push in the WWF and even got a shot at Bob Backlund's title. Then for whatever reason turned him into a jobber for the tv tapings.
I can think of a really good example of an actual wrestler that is kind of obscure in regards to never being in a major promotion. Tom "Reckless Youth" Carter is considered the King of Independents. He is an icon of indy promotions. He could possibly be the most famous wrestler never to make it big. He's like the Crash Davis of wrestling.
Kamala was awesome when I was a kid. He reminded me of the character Hightower played in Police Academy 4(I think) that was sprinkling dust over his dead brother(Tackleberry) in the back of the patty wagon.
What was the name of the wrestling league that played on ESPN that had like a half dozen Von-Erichs(sp)?
Also, the Brookly Brawler is kind of obscure, and kind of crappy....
I just remembered, Abdullah the Butcher. That was the guy that reminded me of Hightower for some reason. Best shoes in wrestling.
No, I don't think I will fuck Stummies.

The most likely would be World Class Championship Wrestling. It was a Wrestling territory owned by Fritz Von Erich, and feature his sons Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike, and Chris* in the Upper Cards.
*All but Kevin are now dead. 2 Suicides, 1 Overdose, 1 suicide by overdose. and 1 Cancer. Also, they had another Brother, Jack, who died at the age of 7 due to being hit by lightning and drowning in a rain puddle.

Wow. Talk about bad luck.
Was the WCCW active around the same time as the WWF? I remember watching a match that had Ravishing Rick Rude, and I could swear I saw him he was still wrestling in the WWF. Maybe one of them was a rerun from a few years ago. The production value for the WCCW was awful. That's probably what made it so good.

Yes it was. The organization ran from 1966 to 1990.
Rick Rude won the WCCW Heavyweight belt November 4, 1985.

From SPWC in Japan, Ken the Box.
Chicken Neck. Little more needs to be said.
And a former Ironman Heavymetal Champion in DDT...
