Yeah I saw the fight live and my heart dropped when I heard the decision. Bradley knows he lost. Those judges need to be interviewed.

I've heard so much about this, but I don't watch boxing so I don't quite get it. Everyone is saying that Paquio obviously won, and every single independent scorer had him winning. So...how come he was allowed to lose? Does boxing not have some check/balance for (what sounds like to me) like obvious fraud?

nope. no checks or balances. they trust the 3 judges. they are supposed to be trained properly & professionally, so whatever they decide is the ultimate decision. unfortunately, since they are 3 human judges, their views are totally subjective. so they might see something different than we saw.
if there is some sort of fraud that is uncovered, then the decision could be reversed, but that would be only if they do discover some sort of foul play.
this article explains it a bit better than i can since i lack the eloquent grace of a journalist: http://x.co/l2EA

in light of last weeks BS, now we have this. definitely didnt see this one coming.

Top Rank promoter Fernando Beltran told ESPN Nacion that Manny Pacquiao will face Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 10 for a fourth time rather than have a rematch with Timothy Bradley, who beat Pacquiao by split decision last Saturday.
Beltran said the fight would take place in either Las Vegas or Mexico City and that Pacquiao would prefer to fight in Mexico.
Beltran also said Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will face Sergio Martinez on Sept. 15 in Las Vegas, if Chavez defeats Andy Lee on Saturday night in El Paso, Texas. |

Fights should end only when someone is KOed or gives up, plenty of times the judges decisions make no fucking sense,
making them appear corrupt or so ridiculously incompetent that boxing's image would probably suffer less if they /were/ corrupt.
I don't think it has changed much since the Seoul Olympics.

even though it was only 6 rounds & it ended in a decisive knockout, it was still an amazing fight to watch. go marquez.

Marquez got lucky on the first knockdown and then Pacquiao got cocky on the next. That's what happens when you go against your established winning strategy of chipping away at the opponent to take a stupid risk at the bottom of the round.

Wow. The Bradley vs Provodnikov fight on HBO this past weekend was amazing. Anyone with even a mild interest in boxing needs to watch it as soon as they can as it was one of the best fights of all time.
HBO is showing replays at least once everyday.

Pacquaio vs. Bradley 2 last weekend was a decent fight. Pac has lost a step IMO but was still able to convincingly beat one of the top pound for pound boxers in the world.
Big year coming up though. Maywweather vs Maidana, Sergio Martinez vs. Cotto, and a possible Golovkin vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. fight all between May and July - huge summer for boxing fans. I'm looking forward to all 3 and think Mayweather, Martinez, and Golovkin win those fights.

Wow. Paulie Malignaggi vs. Shawn Porter was brutal - Shawn Porter looked very impressive. Definitely someone to look for as a potential big name in the future.
