Mine has to be OSU winning the NC against Miami in Overtime. One of the greatest games I can remember. Now they just get there and blow it unfortunately.

"The catch" (I know it's not the only "The Catch") by Alabama's Tyrone Prothro was pretty awesome, if we're keeping it recent (i.e. last decade or so). Alabama was down by 11 to Southern Miss. at the time, and this catch sparked the comeback.

Youtube video:

Sadly, Prothro (then a Junior) broke his leg just a couple of games later, which proved to end his college football career.

Jan 10, 1982- The NFC Championship game. The San Francisco 49ers are down 27-21 to the Dallas Cowboys. Third down 49ers, 58 seconds left. In a play affectionately referred to as 'The Catch', Joe Montana tosses a high pass to the end zone, straight into the arms of Dwight Clark. The 49ers won 28-27 and went on to win Superbowl XVI.

Cool

I could name pretty much everything on that Gatorade commercial as extremely awesome in sports history, all awesome.

In recent age, last years Div I College game where (can't remember the teams) they lateralled the balls 20 some times to end up winning the game was not only hysterical but incredibly fun to watch.

This is my favorite sports moment. But in contrast to this guy, it was a great day for me.

- Watching, in person, the Virginia Cavaliers come back from a 21-0 deficit against North Carolina during the '02 football season to win 37-27.

- Virginia Cavaliers football team defeating Virginia Tech at the final home game of the '03 season.

- Again, watching the Cavaliers beat the Florida State Seminoles on TV during the '05 season.

- The San Francisco 49ers winning SuperBowl XXIX... And defeating the Packers in the playoffs during the '98-'99 season.

- Michael Jordan's should've been final shot in the '98 NBA Finals against Utah.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it

No no, it's ok. Pats fans in general were pretty smarmy for a while, and the Giants simply outplayed and outcoached us.

I'm not some "YAH DOOD!" from Quincy who beats on Yankee fans and tells Giants fans to go fuck themselves (even if my blood boiled a little after going to Florida in late February and seeing more Tyree jerseys than I've seen in my life...fucking bandwagon jumpers).

The Jets, on the other hand, can all get AIDS.

On the bright side for you... Philadelphia is going to be miles better than NJD for years to come. We can't play the free agency market for shit.

Yeeeeah ross... I remember watching that hit live too. I don't really like having that be one of my favorite sports moments, but the wind it took out of the Flyers' sails that day was undeniable. It changed the face of the entire game, and in my mind, allowed the Devils to win.

I actually still have the newspaper from the next day, The Trentonian. In big letters, on the back side of the sports page "FLYER EXTINGUISHERS". I was happy.

I can't find it on YouTube, other than a fan-made remix video, but I remember during the 49ers vs. Seahawks game during the '06 season (49ers won 24-14), Alex Smith dodged a sack and then found Frank Gore for a TD pass... And then that same quarter, he faked out the entire Seattle defense and ran 20 yards to the endzone untouched.

And don't forget Garrison Hearst's 96 yard TD run during Week 1 of the 1998 season.

5. Scott Podsednik's walk-off home run in Game 2 of the '05 World Series to give the Chicago White Sox a 2-0 lead over the Houston Astros. The amazing thing was, Podsednik had 0 home runs during the season, and the walk-off was the second of the postseason for him.

4. A.J. Pierzynski 'stealing first base' in Game 2 of the 2005 ALCS versus the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The home plate umpire ruled that the LAA catcher did not cleanly catch strike 3, and by the time they realized it, the catcher had already rolled the ball back to an empty mound, and Pierzynski ran to first.

3. Devin Hester returning the opening kickoff for a TD in Super Bowl XLI. I literally screamed so loud, I lost my voice for the rest of the game.

2. "The Shot" - Michael Jordan's final jumper as a Chicago Bull over Utah's Byron Russell to ice the Bulls' sixth NBA title in 1998.

1. Bobby Jenks on the mound, two outs, bottom of the ninth, man on second, Astros batting in Game 4 of the World Series, which the White Sox lead 3 games to 0. White Sox lead Game 4 1-0. Orlando Palmeiro of the Astros batting. Then these words were spoken, words that White Sox fans had waited to hear for over 88 years...

"Palmeiro, over the head of Jenks, Uribe, charges, throws....OUT!! And the White Sox have won the World Series!!!!"

The absolute greatest sports night of my life.

i just caught it on a highlight reel once, but Priest Holmes of the Chiefs a couple seasons back ran to the end zone, and actually used his foot to propel off the back of the rushing opponent to score a TD. It was fucking amazing. It was like 5 seconds, but I haven't forgotten it.

Also, any time Derrick Thomas ('Spider-Man') scored a TD.
