I've heard Spider-man is going through a really horrible phase right now and this would seem to be part of it. He looks like Venom 2099 had his colors inverted. Which reminds me, how bad was 2099? Interesting concept, but guh.

I liked Spiderman 2099! I loved his costume and the twist on his powers. It was cool.

Yeah, everything looked cool in 2099, but it was like they were trying to hard to put a more adult edge on the series and whatever-his-name-is who was Spidey in it was no Peter Parker. And that's not saying much.

Spider Man went downhill a long time ago. The best part I can remember was when he did those team ups with Captain America Silver Sable and Palladin, those were awesome. Whatever happened to Tombstone, he was the coolest villian ever, he'd just show up and beat the holy shit out of Spiderman, no real powers or any explanation of why he was paper white, just a good old fashioned ass whoopin. Also I miss they Scorpion and Elektro, they were so lame it was funny, always hanging out in a sewer brooding on their hatred of Spiderman, then concocting some half assed robbery to coax him out. Anyone remember the issue from the 70s where Elektro and some other dumbass who looked like the shocker but shot ice took over the Daily Bugle?

Doom 2009 was indeed the shit, and I agree don't disrespect him he may send his esteemed minister of punishment, Jake Gallows aka Punisher 2099 to have a chat with you. I love the 2099 universe, but you are right it reached a bit to be more adult, love the toys the future punisher had, but alas like most punisher redo's it wasn't quite right.

I remember liking X-Men 2099, but maybe my tastes have changed for the better now. I had Skullfire and Bloodhawk's figures too.

It's not just his obvious goblin-esque outfit, it's his line:
"That was a lame joke, wasn't it? Mind if i take it back!"
It sounds more like something the Joker would say and you know what, the Joker could make that line work.
