My local comic store got in half of an unopened box of Revised, so me and three of my friends thought it might be fun to draft it. At $20 a pack, it wasn't the best idea, but it was still fun.

Drafting Revised is hard. In a 15 card pack, anywhere from 4-7 of the cards will be land. It's unusual to get a land in an uncommon slot, and it's even possible to get a land instead of your rare. Because of this, it's exceeding hard to make a 40 card deck with three 15 card packs. Still, I pulled off it off pretty well. This was my final deck:

10 Mountains
6 Forests
2 Atogs
2 Firebreathing
1 Giant Growth
1 Stone Rain
2 Regrowths
1 Nevinyrral's Disk
2 Dwarven Warriors
1 Wild Growth
1 Shivan Dragon
2 Hill Giants
2 Scyrb Sprites
1 Desert Twister
2 Grey Ogres
1 Grizzly Bears
1 Bottle of Suleiman
1 Disentegrate
1 Jayemdae Tome

Sideboard:Burrowing
COP: White
Black Ward
Phantasmal Terrain
Guardian Angel
Mesa Pegasus
Scathe Zombies
Reconstruction

I ended up winning. The prize was 1 Revised pack, 1 Lorwyn for first, and 2 Lorwyn for second. My prize pack rares were Web (UGH) and The Biting Gale.

It was pretty fun. I had more fun drafting Revised than I ever have drafting Lorwyn. But at $20 per pack, it was kinda pricey. No one pulled a dual.

The rares were:

Jade Monolith
Shivan
Jayemdae Tome
Nightmare
Mind Twist
Winter Orb
Nevinyrral's Disk
Stasis
Armageddon
Bottle of Suleiman
Sedge Troll
Millstone

There was also a Serra, a Basalt Monolith and a Clone. So yeah, it wasn't worth $60 apiece moneywise, but it was damn fun.

I knew none of you would pull a dual! Jeebus be damned! Also, I didn't have $60 anyway and was at my five year high school reunion so I couldn't have played if I wanted to.

Syd played me in the second round to see who got the extra revised pack. I feel like my deck was stronger than his, but I fucked my mana base pretty hardcore needing GG, UU, and WW for the deck. If I had dropped the Craw Wurm from my deck I could have added another plains and my deck would have been a LOT stronger. Anyway, here it is:

Creatures:
2 Wall of Wood
1 Llanowar Elves
1 War Mammoth
2 Ironroot Treefolk
1 Craw Wurm
1 Prodigal Sorcerer
1 Wall of Air
1 Clone
1 Water Elemental
1 Air Elemental
1 Benalish Hero
1 Serra Angel

Other Spells:
1 Jade Monolith
1 Fog
1 Hurricane
1 Unstable Mutation
1 Animate Artifact
1 Steal Artifact
1 Power Sink
1 Disenchant
1 Armageddon

Land:
7 Islands
6 Forests
4 Plains

Sideboard:
1 Mindtwist
1 Shanodin Dryads
1 Jump
1 Merfolk of the Pearled Trident
1 COP Blue
2 COP Red
2 Healing Salve
1 Holy Stength

Games 2 and 3 against Syd the Jade Monolith and Animate Artifact came out for the 2 COP Red's, which is one of the main reasons I really felt cheated that I wasn't able to beat him.
