Is Mad Cuntie in your deck? I fucking hate that card. I kinda hate Lorwyn in general. I miss drafting Tenth Edition. Sad

Ugh, I never even thought of changing one little letter there. Anyway, no it doesn't really meld with the rest of the deck's play. And Imperious Prefect is more nuts, buffing other Elves and making what are effectively 2/2 Elves for G and a tap. I do, however, have 2 copies of Wort.

Lorwyn's fun if you like doing Tribal Wars. The Merfolk can get nuts (just ask Val) with the right pieces.

Every time we draft, I try Merfolk and never quite works out. There's a lot of great Merfolk - Douser, Angler, Merchant of Currents, Merfolk VJ, Harpoon Sniper, but they're all easily killed by red and black destruction. Also, they don't have the speed that red or green has. I had Sygg this week, as well as Guile, Shapesharer, and Changeling Hero, and I still got stomped on.

I think the Merfolk shine more in Constructed than in Draft, here's my Merfolk deck:

Most of the time it's won has been through milling and life overload rather than combat, though I've gotten a Veteran up to 13/13 through counters alone (damn Wall of Vapor). I think maybe I should axe one of the Commerces for another Crib Swap.

Merfolk are good in draft, but they don't really have the speed to be aggro, they do however tend to be the best at milling. Drowner of Secrets and Merrow Commerce can pretty much win games on there own, and with Judge of Currents you should be able to gain more life then most decks can deal with. Forced Fruition and Jace Beleren are bombs that work well with the milling theme if they show up, other bombs are Summon the School, Mirror Entity, and Benthicore

As for the game, it definitly wasn't a bad game. You made all the right play from what I saw, and this deck seems to be vicious on a good draw. Since I didn't see it I am going to recomend Profane Command as a finisher for this deck. Also, Goblin Skycutter seems subpar, Squeaking Pie Sneak, Emberwilde Augur, and Goblin Furrier all seem like better two drops, while Mogg Fanatic is one of the best goblins in standard at the moment. Just some ideas.

Ah, but you see, Val only has three decks right now, one of which is a bird tribal deck. In which case he's pretty reliable and helps feed the Witch/Shenanigans.
