I think I mentioned it in an earlier thread- but I need to reiterate:

Resident Evil 4 is the downright shit.

MIGHT be the best video game I've ever played. Though it's hard to compare video game genres, I can't remember the last time I've had this much fun playing.
I haven't completed the game yet, so try not to ruin any surprises for me, but I have to suggest to anyone that hasn't played: do yourself a favor and get a copy of it now.

I must ask: have you beaten mercenaries 100% yet?

Haha, I remember when I was freaking out at the thought of having to get 60,000 with every character on every level, because getting 900 point seemed hard...

I remember staying up until 5 in the morning, saying I'm not quitting until I beat the port with leon...then beating it...and beating the village and the castle with ada afterwards, just to show the game what's up...

Watching my brother play is rediculous...he's so good. He got a 166 kill chain on the castle with wesker, and ended up getting 230 thousand points or some insane shit in the end.

I still play the game at least once a month. I've played it so many times, but it's still fun as hell.

To be honest the reward of the infinite ammo handcannon was somewhat of a letdown...I would have much rather had an infinite ammo Killer 7. That gun is super stylish, fast enough to take out crowds, packs enough punch to murder bosses and is downright fun to use. Hell, I'd have been happy if starting a "new game+" with just a killer 7 made the game only give you magnum ammo...but alas, it cannot be so. Ah, well I still get the enjoyment of the handcannon, or as I like to call it, the press a button watch a cutscene gun during bossfights.

Also, in summary, I'd just like to give Resident Evil 4 the "Second game to ever have proper analog aiming on a console shooting game" award, with the first place award going to Time Splitters 2.

Not yet. I really suck. On the plus side, I have unlocked all the characters. Although, nobody's head comes off quite like Ada's. Is there any way of saying that without sounding like a pervert. Oh well, I can still watch "Jingle All the Way" for Arnold's thoughts on being a pervert.

I think RE4 is a great game, but I don't think it necessarily deserves the "Best Game Ever" hype that it gets all over the internet. For me, the gameplay got a little stale... There's not much variety in the weapons or the tactics employed to take out your enemies. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast playing the game, but one or two playthroughs was enough for me. I tried my hand at Mercernaries to try and get all the rewards but quickly grew bored. I haven't really picked up the game since.

I prefer games that have a bit more depth to them, like Ninja Gaiden or Guilty Gear.
