I've been listneing to the new Linkin Park a lot recently. Anyone else listen to their new album? Like it dislike it? It's growing on me, but I perfer the older sound they had. Maybe they just ran out of things to scream about.

I always considered them to be a boy band.

I can kinda see it...but don't you need more than 2 singers to be considered a Boy Band. Maybe you meant like Hall & Oates, or something but a boy band? Next your gonna call SUM 41 a boy band.

Multiple singers, young when they first broke, "In The End" appealed to teenage girls...
Looking at their album credits, though, they actually did write their own stuff, which instantly takes them out of the running for boy band status. I thought their producer had written most of most of their early stuff, but I was wrong.

What's the deal with the token Asian guy with the turn tables? When was the last time you could actually hear any disk scratching on any Linkin Park song ever? It's like they keep that guy around to be smug about how diverse and new-age they are.
I also think ten years from now they'll be regarded the same way we look back on The Smashing Pumpkins durring their peak in the 90s: over-hyped.

Well any group that has mosh pits at their concerts automatically get taken out of Boy Band Status to me, but then again thats just me. Hahn does the videos, which I haven't seen one in quite awhile as well as develops the beats and scratches from time to time. He is kick ass in concert to. So as far as keeping him to be diverse, just look at the other members, I really don't think thats his role.

You can't overhype the artistic genius of Billy Corgan.

I like Linkin Parks music, but their lyrics are so terrible, they ruin the entire thing. If they were singing in like Swedish, I'd totally dig it.

I've heard your song
And I've seen the light
In your eyes and it
Took me so long to see
Straight through the night
And through you ah
You're the depths of my own mind
And you're the heights of my creation
Wait for me, wait for me
Alone but strong when you're in my sight
Your love hit me like a stroke
Take me with you
Take me with you
Take me to that place ah
Where I feel so safe aaah
Into your light I dive
I've taken this step
And we're intimate now and I am
I am joining your world
A formation of love and you shine
Through me
You're the depths of my own mind
And you're the heights of my creation
Wait for me, wait for me
Alone but strong when you're in my sight
Your love hit me like a stroke
Take me with you
Take me with you
Take me to that place ah
Where I feel so safe aaah
Into your light I dive
Into your light
Enter my mind
Mermaid medium of light
For the morning that comes
For the orchid that grows
Love me against all odds
You defeated the doubt
That was stuck inside me
Take me to that place ah
Where I feel so safe aaah
Into your light I dive
Into your light I dive
Take me to that place ah
Where I feel so safe aaah
Into your light I dive

I've seen their ads for their new album and I have this to say: dressing like U2 and using a bunch of stock footage of explosions and war and atrocities does not a good band make. It worked for Pink Floyd, yes, but I know Pink Floyd. And you, Linkin Park, are no Pink Floyd. (I'm not just judging them on this album though, I've always considered them to suck incredibly hard, the dreck they call music always felt to me like it is really only the sort of thing angry 13 year olds would listen to. But, you know, that's just me...)

That's a ridiculous statement, Mr. Chicago.
They were decent; had 1 good album and 1 GREAT album and that's it. And his other bands were/are terrible.

Adore, while widely panned, is the most artistic album since the era of the Beatles and the Doors. I doubt most will agree, but that's my opinion.
And yes, his newer stuff sucks.
