I am surrounded by the Christmas variation and I hate it. I don't like the fact that people use this time of the year, Jesus' birth or whatever as an excuse to be "nicer and kinder to people". I think this temporal façadism is disgusting and I also think they should try to teach people to be as nice (if they want to be that nice)all the time. The world might be better if people didn't pick and choose their times for niceties.
I think getting cheesy presents for people you barely know is also retarded. You might think to yourself, "but, it's the thought that counts right?" Wrong. If you had "thought", you would have gotten a practical gift that they would've liked. Getting someone something they don't want/need and don't like isn't nice, it's lazy, and I know all about lazy.
There are some other things I dislike/hate about Christmas:
- The same Christmas decorations on every other house on every street.
- People who play music OUT of their house. Keep that to yourselves.
- People saying "Merry Christmas" unwarrantedly and not getting an axe in the back. =-=chuckles=-=
- Kids. (All-year thing, but it amplifies around this season)
- Parents. They make the kids that I hate via genetics and raising, so I blame them too.
- Family members who I never talk to (AKA all of them) asking me for my address to send gifts that I don't want.
- The colors red and green.I like them seperately, but they are opposites on the color wheel and it hurts my eyes to see them together. If you mix them you get BROWN, the true color of the season.
- Inability to find the games I want at EB because it's busy.
- Santa in the mall. It takes up my walking space between JCPenney and the Perpetual Ball Machine (mall attraction).
- Salvation Army Pot-Guardians and their damn ringing bells. Don't they get annoyed? Do they wear ear plugs? What the Hell?
- People being overly and uncharacteristically nice (goes with the façadism)
- People calling me "Scrooge" when I'm poor as fuck.
- All the above is brought to me by the birth of Christ, so they makes me dislike all religion even more by categorical association.
I think I'm done. ^_^
