So is this a reboot of the old series or a continuation? Not that I've ever seen it or have plans to see it.

It's a continuation. I'm just addicted for some reason. Maybe I have a man-crush on Patrick Duffy. But mostly just his hair.

I didn't know it had aired already. I will definitely be checking this out, as I like Patrick Duffy. He is awesome.

I watched the premiere and loved it.

And yeah, it's a continuation... mostly. It seems to ignore the TV movie J.R. Returns where J.R. gets control of Ewing Oil back from Cliff Barnes, except for the part at the beginning where it's revealed that J.R. didn't shoot himself. It also ignores the second TV movie (which was a sequel to J.R. Returns) entirely.
