Something more userfriendly for the phones.

Maybe forums' with no signatures for page loading times.

Notifications for PM's.

I dunno something that looks better than the squished fullpage on my whole screen so I have to zoom in and scroll left to right and up and down to read pages.

SydLexia Games. I don't know where I'm going with that. But I want it.

I'd DL that. The mobile page sucks to post in.

I was thinking about making a Facebook app that serves my signatures into a box on users' profiles. Sadly, that possibility is long gone.

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can.

PHPBB3 with non-table based forums is much easier to port to phones. Newer HTML5 templates will make it even better.

Good news, I am getting a Thunderbolt. It was ordered, so as soon as it arrives, I might be able to do some tweaking to make the page read better.

As far as page size goes, someone incorrectly got it into Syd's head that a page that is larger in size will get better search ratings. I have been asking for overall image compression reductions for a while. I think they would be pretty easy to do.

As for an actual app, I doubt that anyone will build one if the site itself is friendly.

How about creating a subdomain for mobile, where all mobile users can be redirected to a phone friendly version.

Good idea.

Auto-switching styles would be better and is very possible with good themes. Once again though, the forum must be upgraded so that it is not a table-based layout. That means no PHPBB2

I actually though of this idea before, and sort of planned it out, but I focused on the non-forum areas of the site, as those could be ported easily. In fact, most of the articles on the site could be ported with near no modification.

I actually browse this site quite a lot with my iPod touch, and zooming in and out to read text and tap hyperlinks does get irritating.

EDIT:

Here is how the site looks like on an iPhone/iPod right now:
Portrait View

Landscape View

Both feature very small text, especially portrait mode.

And here is a rather crappy mockup of what it would look like:

Please apologize for the bad scaling of the SydLexia banner. I was making this quickly in MS Paint.'

Here's a pointless photo that (attemps) shows what the example looks like on the iPod touch, taken with my DSi's camera, which managed to take a sharper photo than a dedicated digital camera:

In person, it looks very readable, and only slightly less readable on the photo.

Out of curiosity, what does this look like:
http://karatekid.sydlexia.com/sydlexia/example-recode/

Additionally if the following style is removed:
#main_menu{width:798px;}

That is a non-table based HTML + CSS version of a front page.

If you wanted to know what it looks like on a mobile device:

The second one is tilted on it's side due to me directly uploading this to dropbox from my iPod.

Well... by accident I deleted the stylesheet for my demo.... I'm not really in the mood to recreate it unless it were to be used. So for now I'm going to just let it sit. If Syd desires an phone friendly frontpage, I'd be happy to oblige, but it needs to be at his request.

I love you guys and your hard work.

I think a Mobile domain would be just as wonderful as an App if not better.

I think a mobile domain would be better, due to it supporting more phones than just the iPhone and Android platform. Also, you have to pay to have your app on the iOS App Store.

When I get the Thunderbolt in a day or two I'll begin to research what can be done.
