Being an arrogant douchebag isn't going to endear you to anyone. I should know, I'm the expect on that. If you wanna play me, you know what you have to do. It's gonna be a massacre anyway so I don't even know why you're so anxious, other than so you can say you had the honour of having your dreams crushed by me.

Guides you through telling everything you need. (Fern uses the same program so just PM him for set downloads).
You can net deck do anything you want it doesn't matter. I'll still win. I'm ready to pound it where you need it badly. you have to post it to on your blog... I'm gunna talk to Fern figure out how to record this shit.
-Lord Snow
We'll do the Extended format that was legal as of August of this year, I haven't updated to July's format.

I figured you would've mentioned that you had already posted that link halfway down page 5 of this thread, Snow. ...And that Jeebus was the very next person to respond to you, showing that he did, at one point, read that post and know that the link was there.

Uh, I'd like to say that I don't think the card sets that OCTGN needs to work are legal to distribute. I'm not entirely sure. Just though I'd point it out.

Good point, that link is to the official site to download the OCTGN program. Beyond that there is a chat room where people can help you install whatever you need to for a given card game. Also can just search for them.

Knyte wins. Flawless victory.
And yeah, fuck that program. If we're gonna play, just proxy a deck and we'll do it in IRC like has always been done. Oh, and we're not playing. You're carrying on like a fucking three year old, so I'm absolutely not going to give you what you want. Behaviour like that should NEVER be rewarded.

You are the reason we aren't playing. YOU'RE FUCKING ANNOYING. Once you get knocked down like 8 pegs and learn to control yourself, maybe then we'll play a game. And yeah, I'm giving myself a warning for flaming you. Totally worth it.

Another unwritten rule:
You can take multiple mulligans without penalty... WITHIN REASON.
No one wants to see you get landscrewed in a multiplayer game. It ruins the fun. But you can't keep mulling till you get a leyline in your opening hand or a god hand. And if you need to mull more than two or three times, your land ratio sucks. Build a better deck.

This reminds me of something that happened to me last week, one of my usually magic buddies was over and I wanted to test a new deck so we sat down for a one on one. I drew my 7. No land. Mulligan. Still no land. again. again. again...
I mulligan 8 times before seeing a single land. I even tried a few draws without reshuffling, just placing this discarded hand on the bottom of the deck.
The really messed up part: It was a 60 card deck with 24 lands in it.

It does happen. I've gone 3-0 in drafts (usuaully playing a total of 7 or 8 games) without ever drawing a particular card in my deck. And in that format, you're only playing 40 cards. It's ridiculous.

I don't play by that... part of good deck construction is building so no need for mulligan. This can encourage players to go heavier for combo decks, and they can get a couple free mulligans... I know for casual play it's fine, and most your friends won't abuse it, in how they build their deck. But there is room for abuse, in how you choose to construct your deck.... which is why i always play mulligan down to one less, i can make exceptions.

You can't build a deck so there's no need for mulliganing. I mean, unless you're a mutant and have the ability to manipulate statistics so that you NEVER get an unlucky draw. Mulligans are part of the game, but since multiplayer is meant to be a fun time, you shouldn't make people Paris down to 4 cards just because they were unlucky enough to draw a couple no-land hands. There's no fun in sitting there unable to do anything, and you shouldn't force your friends into that situation.

Mulligans can be abused, but I've never seen a casual player abuse them.

Exactly. Especially with the Leylines in M11, there is going to be a higher ammount of people trying to mulligan to manipulate thier decks. But, that should stay in Tourny, and not casual. One rule you can use, that my group does even though it isn't really a rule, is if you mulligan, you show everyone your hand.
This shows everyone that you are mulliganing due to lack of lands, not because you didn't draw your best starting combo hand.

Having no lands isn't the only reason to mull. If I'm running a 5 color deck and I have an opponent hand with 2 lands and 5 cards that aren't the same colors as the lands, I'm not keeping that hand.

Well, any justifiable reason other than being a dick. I mean if I am playing a two color deck and am holding 5 white spells and 2 forests, I'm going to mulligan as well.
