As to the topic at hand, in grad school I had to read Michel Foucault's "The History of Sexuality: An Introduction, Volume I" (there is no volume 2). It mainly deals with aspects of power (then again so do all of Foucault's works).

I was using BCE and CE because that is the name of the chapter... it had nothing to do with religion... but now that you mention it, given it's talking about a culture that didn't associate with Christianity, it makes perfect sense to not use BC and AD.

I tried to read Foucault - that particular book - for a research paper on discourses involving sex, but I couldn't focus on it. I didn't enjoy his style of writing or something.

For an interesting read, I'd read Getting the Love you Want by Dr. Harville Hendricks. I wouldn't go so far as to recommend using his theories, but he has very interesting views on how we develop relationships, how we choose a mate, and how to "fix" problems. I had to read it for an advanced social psychology course... thank god I didn't have to read one of the two Dr. Phil books that were also among the course choices!

00's = Brazillian or trimmed to like 5 hairs left.

That has got to be the most non-related reply I've seen today... but on that note, what is the male preference? (strictly asking from a research standpoint)

We actually agree on something. Odd.

I don't like Dr. Phil either. This is getting eerie.

I automatically dislike Dr. Phil because he's someone who calls himself a doctor but never went to med school or grad school to become one. Liar.

I prefer trimmed. Completely shaved makes a woman look immature, and therefore too young to fool around with.

Shaved, not because of some sick fantasy about underage people, but just because I think hair in the special no-no place is gross.

My sister's CCD book used BCE and CE. I was fucking pissed. I was ready to march down to the rectory and punch Father Coughlin in the face for authorizing the use of such blasphemous books. Then I remembered that the archdiocese is really hurting for priests right now, especially non-molesty ones, so I just wrote him a polite letter explaining why it was stupid instead.

Going back to the BCE thing briefly, I think it's pretty stupid. They were using it in my Geography lecture and textbook last semester, and it just annoyed me. It's BC and AD, as far as I'm concerned, and it always will be.

BC and AD can just have the religious meanings bowdlerized, so no-one gets offended ^^

I remember getting into an arguement with someone back in college about BC and AD. He was positve that AD stood for "After Death" (Of Christ), but I kept trying to tell him it was for the latin phrase "Anno Domini" which means "Year Of Our Lord".

Part of my arguement was that if BC was Before Christ and AD was After Death, then we would have 30+/- years missing from history because there is no DCL year suffix. (Durring Christ's Life)

In Xenosaga, they're so far in the future they decided to start calling the years TC for Transcend Christ.

Snagged The Death Collectors by Jack Kerley today, it's the sequel to The Hundredth Man. I'm gonna tear into it today, The Hundreth Man was awesome, so I'm lookin' forward to this one.

I'm reading Stephen King's On Writing. It was originally for an assignment in my creative writing class, but I just took to the book. It's actually pretty awesome, because the 1st half is basically his autobiography.

The Death Collectors was lame. I grabbed Absolution Gap by Alastair Reynolds, haven't read a sci-fi novel in a while.
