I read lots of Magic novels, they're fun reads, nothing too deep, though. Outside of that, I'll read anything with serial killers, or space ships.

I'm going through The Hundredth Man by Jack Kerley right now, it's neat, but I can't get read-it-in-two-sittings into it.

Can you recommend any good books about serial killing spaceships?

I haven't found any. But if you do come across one, let me know. That would be the coolest thing ever.

I've read books where one spaceship will kill lots of spaceships, but, I mean, it's hardly a covert operation. There's not a myriad of spaceships getting their throats slit when the other spaceships retire to their respective docks for the night, y'know?

Don't call it 'manga', that's just asinine. Just because a graphic novel is from another country doesn't mean it deserves a special title. 'Manga' isn't a genre, it's a fucking graphic novel. What's foreign music called? Music. Why should a foreign graphic novel be given a special title?

Aaaaaaaaaaand that's my pet peeve for the evening.

In terms of non-fiction, I usually read political and historical crap. In terms of fiction, usually existential novellas.

Right now, instead of working on my Master's Essay on the train ride to and from work, I've been reading Marcus Aurelius' "Emperor's Handbook" which is a collection of various passages about his stoic philosophy that he wrote while fighting barbarians in Germania. I haven't read any stoicism before, and I have to say that I like it.

When I was younger I used to read a lot of sci-fi, but I mainly look towards tv and movies for that now. I do still own some Star Trek and Babylon 5 novels, however.

If it has "Dragonlance" on the spine, I own it and have read it. Also, own the enitire works of Douglas Adams.

I also love reading wrestling biographies. I have both of Mick Foley's, Kurt Angle's, and am debating on getting Ric Flair's.

I just finished that. It was about the only graphic novel I was going to give credit too. Then it got long, and drawn out, and then shitty. And then it kept going, and got shitter.

You read manga from back to front. Foreign CD's don't spin counterclockwise or anything. Also, I'm assuming manga is just the Japanese word for comic books, so all the little otakus have to say it because saying Japanese words is super cool and trendy, as made evident by the fact that I actually know the word otaku.

I know I"m breaking the "no double posting" rules, but this is totally unrelated from the previous message so I didn't want it lost in there.
Stuff I'm reading (all comics):

Marvel:
Civil War and all crossover titles
Ultimate Spiderman
Fantastic Four: The End
Bullet Points (5 issue mini-series. The first issue is great and I highly recomment it)
Ultimate Power (Ultimate universe/Squadron Supreme universe crossover. Also highly recommended)

DC:
52
Uncle Sam

Wildstorm (DC's "independant" brand)
The Boys (I can't stress enough how strongly I'm recommending this. Resist the urge to make all the really easy gay jokes, and just read it. It's phenominal)

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few current things, but well, I'm forgetting them. Also, some graphic novels/trade paperbacks you MUST read if you like comics or if you have any desire to try something out:
Watchmen
The Dark Knight Returns
Kingdom Come

Battle Royale... read through it once, kicked so much ass I'm reading through it again. If you haven't read it, I recommend it. It's waaaaay better than the movie.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Kill him!

Stuff I've read recently: 300, Hellboy: The Chained Coffin and Others, been re-reading a little Lovecraft here and there...uhh...I guess I've been kinda lazy on the reading front recently, I've been watching the myriad of Simpson and Seinfeld DVDs I've gotten cheaply in the past few weeks.

Right now I'm re-reading Live From New York, a comprehensive look at Saturday Night Live related through interviews with every influential person behind Saturday night Live throughout the last 30 years. Lorne Michaels, Michael O'Donohoughe, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, Will Ferrell, Steve Martin...you name it, they're in there. Phenomenal book.

In the last few months, I've read Glow Pucks & 10-cent Beer: The 101 Worst Ideas in Sports History and The Ultimate History of Video Games. Both of these books are really good.

I just finished A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle the other day. My friend convinced me to give it a shot after I admitted that the cover art terrified me as a child. It was bizarre, but actually alright. Incidentally Madeline L'Engle also wrote one of the shittiest books I've ever read, Endless Ring of Light.

I read waaaaay too many novelizations of movies, games, and shows. It started about three years ago when I was trying to "break into the industry". Basically people get paid to write novels really quickly and they already have an audience that will buy them because of the name alone. Not a bad gig.

But I'm far too behind in my reading and hope to catch up on it this summer. In my "to read" pile next to me we have:
Kung Fu High School
The Manolo Matrix
jpod
The Night of the Hunter
24: Declassified - Veto Power
Lost - Secret Identity
Bones - Buried Deep
Wicked
Shadows in the Asylum: The Case Files of Dr. Charles Marsh (In the process of reading)

I remember A Wrinkle In Time being pretty cool, as was the sequel, A Wind In The Door.

The last actual book I read was R.A. Salvatore's The Two Swords, which I'm passing on to a friend for Christmas. I'm also mailing another friend Nietzche's Also Sprach Zarathustra.

Next book I intend to read (Or rather, audiobook I intend to listen to as it will be much better that way) is
"Make Love*
*The Bruce Campbell Way".
Who wants to get me an itunes gift card for Christmas so I can listen?

I found out that Slave Labor Graphics recently put out a new comic book series based off Disney's Gargoyles. It takes place right after the Hunter's Moon storyline and will pretty much ignore all of Season 3 aka "The Goliath Chronicles" except for the episode "The Journey." So in short, I may be getting me a few issues of that, or Civil War when they bind it all together like the 6 parts of Wolverine: Origin.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND!! I've only listened to the audio version. Kinda cheesy, but cheesy the Bruce Campbell way! Six CDs of pure bliss and entertainment.
