Anyone here want to shed some spotlight on possibly unknown artists so we can enjoy them as well?

Some Music I'm Listening to Now:
The Avalanches
Daft Punk *Not Indie But A Lot Of People Don't Know Them*
The Decemberists
The Futureheads
The Go! Team
Gym Class Heroes
Madvillain
The Rapture

Two Words:

"The Rugburns"

The best band no one has ever heard of. Too bad they broke up. But, they have 2 full length albums and a EP out. Find them, listen to them, worship them.

Lizzy Borden, one of the best bands to come off the Sunset Strip scene in the 80s...check out their Myspace to hear some of their tunes

Does anybody here have a Ross Rifle?

I don't know if Lizzy Borden would count as indie, but they rule.

Two songs come to mind:
Morningwood - Nth Degree (it's in like 5 car commercials for the same company)
LCD Sound System - Daft Punk is Playing in My House

Liz Phair screws up a lot of soundtracks.

The two that instantly came to my head were:
Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy with her horrible song "Six Dick Pimp". If I could erase songs from commercially released CDs, this track would get lost faster than the Kids in the Hall sequel. (Okay, the song "Birthday Cake " from Cibo Matto was actually worse)

And the other was the song "Rocket Boy" from some soundtrack. Someone I knew really liked the song and would play and sing it endlessly. Wow... that was awhile ago...

And looking through iTunes right now, I had "California" from my bootleg "Chasing Amy" soundtrack. Also, not one of my favorite songs.

But Phair's had a couple of songs I've liked, so I try not to hate her just because some soundtrack producer has terrible taste. Razz

EDIT: "Rocket Boy" was on "Stealing Beauty". All three were released around 1996.

Also, Liz Phair isn't really indie anymore. She sold out a couple of years ago with that song "Extraordinary" that played on nearly every female sport (see: WNBA) commercial around.

More like Liz UN-Phair!

I'm sorry, that was terrible. She was OK on "I Love The 70s"

That was her retirement album... some radio personality happened to play her song, and it caught on... what a bitch! (sarcasm)
