Yeah, I don't question the gutsy play to end it right there. But doing it with no time outs...dumb.

You know what...they had two play to pick up two yards and failed, they blew a timeout before the drive started and one before their last offensive play. They fucking blew the game, they didn't deserve a chance to win at the end after all this fuckery.

What pisses me off to no end is when a team is up late and they play "soft" defense to prevent a huge play. Why don't they just play the way they played the WHOLE game? Before the last two scores the pats held them to 21 points, then they gave away the touchdown to let them pull within six...for fucking FREE, except two minutes off the clock. Then they failed to run out the clock and the the defense didn't stand a chance from the 30.

Yeah, that's the way it is in basketball as well...I don't get it. You should NEVER allow a team to rally, don't change what's been working the whole time for you, only because you're worrying about easing back for the next game. I don't know how many countless games that should've been massacres that end in a very close call. I might be wrong, but I don't recall seeing this sort of playing 15 years ago or so, and know that rallying is MUCH more common now than it was then. While it makes the game more exciting to watch, it also gives you a sickening feeling if your team fucks up.

I caught the end of the game at the bar last night and one thing I noticed right away was Belichick and Tom Brady walking off the field almost immediately. Belichick did the same thing at that Super Bowl that they lost to the Giants a couple years ago. Then it showed Peyton Manning making his way through the middle of the field looking for Brady. I guess there is no rule that the quarterbacks & coaches have to shake each others hand after a game, but you usually see it every single game. It made Belichick and Brady look like a couple of sore loser douschbags.

I'm pretty sure Brady met up with Manning, and he has been walking off early for EVERY game, not just this one.

I still think the Patriots have a shot at winning this game.

Idk, it depends on how well they can make adjustments down the stretch.

What does every one else think the chances are of them meeting in the playoffs? I see it happening...although it isn't exactly a leap of faith calling that.

It's a good chance, but the Bengals have been impressive as of late. I don't see them winning the Super Bowl, but I could see them possibly knocking off either team in the process...we'll see.

There is always a good chance as both teams usually play good in the playoffs....oh wait, Peyton is 7-8 in the playoffs, nevermind.

But the Colts pretty much locked up the one seed so if the pats are the 4 seed, they would most likely play in the divisional round, otherwise it would be the title game.

I do think it will be the title game because I don't see the Patriots slipping to the 4 seed, and I actually see them getting the 2 seed and getting a bye. As Doddsino pointed out, Cincinnati has been good this year, but I just don't see them holding on and getting a bye, and Denver seems to be losing whatever it was that they had.

Though I do agree with you, they are sitting in the 4 seed presently. I think they have just as good a chance to be two as anyone though.

They make a play they should have, and they win. Some could even say they did make the play. One thing I know is that this sure as hell won't happen again. I'd say the Pats lost it, Indy didn't win. Although, Peyton Manning is unreal, you give him a chance and he'll beat ya every time. Pats will be fine.

There's one last thing that had to be on BB's mind making that call, and it is partially the reason why I am 100% positive the Patriots will make the playoffs as (probably) the 3 seed (I don't think they catch the Bengals, but will pass whoever wins the shitty AFC West).

The rest of the AFC East is garbage on a football field.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Cincinnati Bengals Schedule the rest of the way:

@ Oakland
Cleveland
Detroit
@ Minnesota
San Diego
Kansas City
@ NY Jets

Unless they blow a few games, the worst they will finish is 12-4.
The two seed will be very hard to get to for the Pats.

I pick them to lose to San Diego

None of those other teams look like they'd be able to stop them, except maybe Oakland

Oakland is one of those teams that can bounce back...I've always hated them, but I think they can be solid when they want to be. That said, I hope the Bengals beat em.

Wow. I had no idea their schedule was that weak the rest of this year. I guess it's time to hope that Larry Johnson destroys their chemistry.

Well looks like my horrors were realized...fucking Bengals ate up their time outs for NO APPARENT reason, since it was obvious the Raiders were going to get the field goal. Way to fuck up.
