OKC is beating the crap out of the Grizzlies, which is a shame, because I'd love to see both of them in the WCF, instead of seeing either of them face Dallas next. I guess as long as the Heat don't win it all, I'll be okay with whoever else.

Ugh. What a terrible game. Celts played well for 3 quarters then played like crap. Doc Rivers late game coaching has been pretty awful too. Game 4 and Game 5, he should have made better decisions than he did.

...until of course, the Lakers and Celtics throw a bunch of money at new people and the process starts over.

The Lakers have been a top team for like the last 12 years. The Celtics have only been top contenders since 2007, and before that, they hadn't won a championship since 1986. I know people love to talk shit about the Celtics because they have more championships than any other team in the league, but oh man, the Celtics have one championship and two Finals appearances in 4 years. They haven't exactly been an unstoppable force. To call them Old Guard is exceedingly generous and stupidly naive.

I under your point, and you're right.

However, I have always considered Boston a team that will win another championship. They have better resources than most teams, and a better market. When you're someone like the New Jersey Nets, and you're not winning...your future as a franchise is in jeopardy, this is not the case for the Celtics or Lakers. So in a sense, they are the old guard, always will be.

I'm not a Celtics hater, I just hate the current team.

I like the Big 3, but I can understand people not liking KG and Allen. And of course, I can understand people hating Shaq. Hell, I hate Shaq. He did nothing for us all year.

But you gotta respect Pierce. He bleeds Celtic Green. He stuck with that team through a lot of mediocre seasons, and he was eventually rewarded for it.

Another thing that he bleeds is ego. There are times where I want to smack him around for his attitude, even though he's a great player. I used to really like him back in the day when him and Antoine Walker were a one two punch.

I don't know, his blood was pretty red after the stabbing incident...but in all seriousness, I've always respected his game and him sticking to the Celtics, playing with Antoine "Jack up 28 foot threes with 19 seconds left on the shot clock" Walker and whatever spare parts ran out there with them. I'm not a big Celtics honk, but it's good for the NBA when they do well, and he's the heart of that team.

Also, RIP to Robert "Tractor" Traylor, who is now probably best known for being the guy that the Bucks traded Dirk Nowitzki for on draft day 1998. Always heard he had a lot of potential but never quite lived up to it. Only 34 years old.

i guess i meant its a passing of the torch. the old guys are becoming irrelevant, while the new guys are taking over. not necessarily in terms of powerhouse teams, but more so in terms of the age of the players.

also, wow. game 7 Grizz v Thunder. the Grizz arent even supposed to be there. fucking 8 seed. i hope game 7 is not a fucking blowout

So the Grizzlies are the Dante Hicks of basketball?

In a lot of ways, I'm upset that this is going to 7 games, but at the same time I don't think we've had a 7 game series yet, so it'll be interesting to see what these two teams bring when they're both facing elimination.

Bulls blow out the Heat and Mavs/Thunder tomorrow.

Thunder/Bulls would be an awesome match up.

I wonder what would've happened if Ben Gordon stayed put, how much more dominant the Bulls truly could be. I guess that's just wishful thinking, but I could easily still see the Heat winning the series in 6.

Don't know how closely you guys follow, but the draft order came out last night. Working on a mock right now. All I know is if the Bucks grab anything but Alec Burks @ 10 I'm going on a rampage.

I'm glad the Cavs got the first pick.

they got the 1st & the 4th pick. hope they dont do something stupid like sign Shawn Kemp.

and like someone on twitter posted: they should just let Dirk play Durant for the other games 1v1

I like David Kahn's implication that the draft lottery os rigged. He's since said he was joking, but I think he's just trying to cover up the fact that he is a terrible GM.

The sad think about Kahn is that team has 1-2 good core players they can build around, a bunch of good trade assets and a high draft pick but he will mess up this offseason. They would make great trade partners with my Milwaukee team (a lot of us are willing to give up Bogut, which would essentially make sure the Wolves get every single rebound), but I doubt we get anything done.

Blegh. If there is a next season it's not gonna be fun to watch for me.

Not quite a Michael Jordan Flu Game from Dirk, but damn impressive nonetheless, considering the 102 fever. Also, Erik Spoelstra looks like a grown up Gosselin kid.

Mavs win, im hoping Kidd gets his ring finally. one of the top PG's of the league deserves a championship.
