Pandora is an internet radio project that helps you discover music that you might like.

First, you enter a band or a song you like. Then it gives you another song based on what you entered. Maybe it plays that song because it has a singer similar to your choice? Or the band sounds like this other one?

Don't like the choice? Say you don't like it and another song will be given.

And so on and so on.

I found it surprisingly fun.

I saw a similar program when G4 brought back the Canadian Screen Savers show (for like two weeks before Star Trek spread across its time slots like herpes in Staten Island) but it had you input the name of a musician or band you liked and it would create a bunch of trees with other groups that were similar in style and genre, the closer the musician/band was, the more likely you were to like them. I can't remember the name of the site/program though.

Yeah, I love George Carlin. He played as the little magical engineer guy on Shining Time Station when I was little. I saw one of his Comedy Central specials last year; way more funny (and dirty) than what he did on that kid's show.

Yeah, a friend of mine's only initial exposure to him was from Shining Time Station with his kids. Anyway he was flipping through channels and saw Carlin's stand-up act and called his kids to see "Mr. Conductor," the kids made it through about 3 minutes before he had to change the channel heh.

Oh, Jesus, that's funny! My mom still has old tapes of Shining Time Station that I used to watch when I was little, because she refuses to get rid of anything.

Pandora and George Carlin are both amazing.

I live off of Pandora for my music needs when I'm at home. And I finished up 'When Will Jesus Bring the Porkchops' recently, fun read.
