Useless Sonic-Related Trivia: Ted Poley from the 80s rock band Danger Danger sang some of the songs in Sonic Adventure 2.

Haha, neat! According to his website, he did the "City Escape" song from SA2 -- one of my favorites.

Incidentally, does anyone out there have some Wikipedia "skillz" and a few spare minutes? I discovered the other day that an entry on a Canadian charity, also called Press Start, was added to Wikipedia. Not a big deal, but there seem to be links from Daniel and Carlos Pesina's entries (if not others) that linked to a nonexistant "Press Start" page, and now go to the one about the charity.

Can this be fixed? Is there any sort of "disambiguation" voodoo magic that can be worked? I'm not really one for "babysitting the internet", but I like to keep the information on my stuff accurate whenever possible. If any of you fellow Sydlexians would be willing to give Wikipedia the appropriate nudge, I'd greatly appreciate it. Smile

Is David Humphrey going to say "I am the ultimate!" at all? If not, I'm saddened and disappointed...then again I'm sure he said cooler things in the games and I just can't remember at the moment.

Very Happy Haha! Sorry, I'm afraid he's not, though.

To make the Press Start page a "(The Movie)" or such will need to be added. Redirects will not work, so all the links would need to be updated.

I'd be more than happy to get going on that when I can.

It's time! September's cartoon is up and rolling:

"Symphony of the Trite".

And as previously mentioned, it stars the original voice of Shadow the Hedgehog, David Humphrey (as Count Vile's pal Vlad)! For more about him, take a look at the Blog.

Wow, right at midnight (close enough). Blessed are we. *Scampers off to watch*

EDIT: Brilliance!

If only video games really worked out that way? I'd love to stall forever before the final showdown with the boss...
*flashback sound effect*
Liquid Snake: Brother! We shall do battle to the DEATH! Only by defeating me, hand to hand, will you be able to save your precious colonel's niece! But first, I will activate a bomb set up to explode in EXACTLY three minutes! You might get to share one fleeting moment of love. But, Snake, you realize our genes were born from blood! We were only created because our collective seven-blah blah blah blah blah
*flashforward sound effect*
Oh yeah.... Embarrassed

Fav. Parts:
Challenging Death to a cook off.
Logic holes in the ole family tree.
Bribery with your own savings.
Phone call interuption.

Aye, but I was super excited for a minute... I figured it was symbolism. Plus, two hours of sleep in 48 hours makes me a little dizzy. Still am. Night. WHAT!?

FYI, October's cartoon is up:

Speed Run.

Not too much hullaballoo about this one. It's very very short in order to give us more time this month to prep for a five-episode miniseries starting in Nov. However, there's an interactive WANTED poster where you can learn a bit more about some familiar and upcoming characters.

Short and sweet. Very funny. Great music, Jake Kaufman!

And now the LENGTHY process of updating...

Thanks a lot for the bios though. It was more than Ed Boon gave us with MKA. Wink

Haha, no problem.

And yeah, Jake's brilliant. The music in "Speed Run" is actually from an existing track of his called "Classical Favorites I". You can listen to the whole thing in the "Chiptunes" section of his website -- virt.vgmix.com.

We created it last night on a whim after filming a short scene. Meagan made the character dolls a while back just for fun, and I was originally just going to take a picture of the cast holding their dolls and post it on the blog.

But then we decided to make a CURAZY JAPANESE COMMERCIAL!

So... it's not supposed to make a whole lot of sense. It's just wacky.

And the Japanese is all legit.

Well, my head exploded. Somehow the mini–season has already spewed out more 'clues' than a "Tale of Two Cities" (Lost, not Dickens).

I expect much pain and suffering to come.

Is Plumber Pete supposed to be Ron Jeremy-ish?

Fav references:
Zelda II
Smash Bros.

Okay, so...

We'll be screening a rough cut of "Press Start" at the beginning of January at MAGFest in Vienna, VA.

MAGFest runs from Jan 4-7, and I don't know yet what day the screening will be. The guy that runs it is running around like the proverbial headless chicken trying to get all the details worked out, so I'll know more soon. However, it probably won't be till at least the 5th.

When I say "rough cut", I mean damn rough. The editing will be loose, most of the FX won't be done, the audio will be extremely raw, and the music will be all temp. So, yeah. Rough.

But we'll also be doing a panel, and among the people there will be myself, Kevin Folliard (screenwriter), Jake Kaufman (composer), Al Morrison (Lin-Ku), Peter Davis (Count Vile), and Meagan Benz (Zippy).

So if you're in or around VA and feel like checking it out, feel free.

This definitely does not count as a premiere, however. That'll happen once the movie is completely 100% done.
