That only makes you cry because you're sterile. NEXT!
And Ross, the New Orleans band on Studio 60 was pretty awesome. |
That was a joke, dumbass, it's clearly not a sad song. That's why I embedded the song in my message, so people could hear it and laugh. Clearly my simple gag was lost on you.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned 'Addagio For Strings' (AKA that sad song from the movie Platoon). It was also in Homeworld. I've always found it moving, and I'm not a classical music fan... heck, its one of the few songs I actually know the title of.
There's a few songs that can actually move me to tears if I'm in the right mindset. Songs like Skid Row's 18 And Life and Iron Maiden's Wasted Years both kind of remind me of myself. I've also cried to Journey's Open Arms, if only because it reminds me of something someone once said to me before slamming the door...
Ahem. But the only song that's actually made me cry upon first listening, without using the unfair advantage of bringing up other feelings deep inside, would be Iron Maiden's song Paschendale. It's just so sad and tragic, in a thorough way from music to lyrics, that it made me cry the first time I heard it. Just thinking about that guitar lead over the hi-hat-signal-tapping gives me goosebumps.
In the more traditional vein, I've also considered Poison's 'Life Goes On' to be a rather sad-sounding song. I'd have to second A Toute Le Monde (though I prefer the demo version somewhat), and I'd also nominated 'In My Darkest Hour'. It's more angry, but the first half is rather downbeat. Also Dokken's 'Alone Again' and Warrant's 'Heaven' strike me as sad, but that's probably because I'm tragically misinterpreting the lyrics to Heaven as a guy singing to his dead daughter...
And Mr. Big's 'I'm The One Who Wants To Be With You' makes me sad because it sounds like the Backstreet Boys...

I just think he feels like he HAS to prove to everyone in the world that he is the smartest man ever and that everyone else just doesn't "get it", or something to that effect. It's not ok to just let the joke be funny apparently.

If I can be serious for a moment, who else thinks that Richard Cheese's version of "wrong way" is sadder than Sublime's?
