Couple of hours before the Brazil game, and of course, everyone in the whole country is awake.
We have giant horns for such ocasions. Go not-orange guys!

You ALWAYS knew? even after the 7x0 vs North Korea? (granted, not a team with tradition, but c'mon, 7x0 )

Oh s**t people on the street are gonna riot. 2x1 against Brazil, and I'm already hearing gunfire. -.-
Bear in mind this is the kind of country where every game we're on is a holyday (seriously, no work). I expect explosions now

Ugh. Sorry about the violence, Sehk. Sad That genuinely does suck.

That's pretty pathetic that a country can take a silly sport so seriously as to endanger their own lives and destabilize the country they love so much. And while I'm fairly neutral when it comes to the rest of the world cup, it's good to see Brazil eliminated because as an objective viewer who isn't really a soccer fan, they seem to play dirty and argue/shout at the referee every time he makes a call which is just bad sportsmanship.

Looks like Holland will be in the finals though seeing as how their next opponent is either Ghana or Uruguay, which shouldn't be too much of a challenge for them.

Well, never say never Panda. I don't watch soccer much, but I've seen enough hockey to know that insane things happen when you look at the far goal, and not the one right in front of your face...hopefully the Dutch don't fall into that trap.

Ignoring my own advice for a moment though, if we have a Holland/Germany final...holy shit. The entire country is gonna go insane.

This is the first game I've watched Brazil play since like...1994, and then did seem a tad dirty to me, but I just chalked it up to frustration and desperation. I didn't think a team that talented had to play like that as a default. Sad

One thing this game does show, though, is that sometimes teamwork (well okay...and a bit of luck) can overcome raw talent.

Dunga (the Brazillian coach) got trapped in a press conference 15 minutes after the game -.-
It was basically a room of people saying WAT!?
Very professional journalism there
Oh well, with Brazil out, my votes default to Argentina due to closeness.
VAMOS HERMANOS!

Blah, I loathe post-loss interviews. Always stupid. So are post-win interviews, but at least they're less depressing. Confused

I'm damn happy now. I don't actually care about who wins this cup, all I know is that it won't be Brazil. Fuck yes! Thank you Sneijder!

Ghana got robbed though. A handball on the goal line should be an automatic goal, not a penalty shot that can miss/be blocked. It just allows a team to cheat essentially and the wrong team is going forward because of that.

Agreed. Red cards mean absolutely nothing late in the game. It's not like intentional and accidental handballs are hard to distinguish anyway.
Players like that should be suspended for more than one game as it's a serious fault, but I don't really how suspensions work in soccer, so...

Well, if you don't mind me protecting the Uruguayans (that's how you say it, right?)
The penalty kick is kinda like the chrismas gift of soccer. Sure, you COULD slip up and fall on your present and break it, but that's not very common.
The referee gave Ghana the winning shot, they just happened to miss it wonderfully. And then Uruguay's goalie was made of awesome (seriously, when he defended the penalty kick he just pointed to the rest of the Ghanonist (I'm just gonna assume I'm right again) and said "you're next!") o.O
Also, getting a hand on a ball like that is HARD. most goalies fail to do so.
But yeah, that guy can never go back to africa or he is gonna get a Vuvuzela up his keyster. And I'm rooting for Uruguay due to closeness (Hey Brazil is BIG)

EDIT: So Argentina got the Bratwurst. It seems everything I root for loses (the cereals, Brazil and now Argentina). Confused

Yeah, Argentina had no answer for Germany who are just absolutely pwning noobs. Maybe England wasn't such a bad team after all...

A Germany/Holland final will be a hell of a match I think, so let's hope for it.

Oh you!

Germany were 13/1 underdogs at the start of this tournament. Have bets on both Germany and The Netherlands so that final would be perfect.

I agree. The penalty kick is usually a free point. They had the game and they fucked it up. The pressure got to them

That match was damn epic, but Spain won in a pretty much genius-like play.
I also heard that if Mick Jagger supports your team, you're fucked. He cheered for USA, England, Brazil and Argertina, and you know what happened to all of these teams.

now that we are down to the final four countries, who do you believe will win it all?

i imagine the finals will be the Netherlands v Germany.

Spain is strong, but Germany has been raping people lately.

I have to go with Germany, based on what we've seen so far. But I'm not an expert by any means. I'm rooting for the Netherlands at this point, though.

Yeah, Germany and Holland are the strongest teams by far. Spain looked pretty impotent against Paraguay and Uruguay only got through because they cheated. I'll be shocked if either Germany or Holland lose in the Semis.
